Fox News is announcing that Tony Snow has died.
Heartbreaking news.
Awwww, thanks for posting that, LUV.
Thanks, save. Good plan.
I have to think that they have a family lawyer and provisions in place for Jill and the children. No need to invent the world anew.
A lady called in to Bill Bennett’s show this morning. She had a son in Iraq when Tony became White House Press Secretary and she felt like someone was finally speaking up for him and his comrads.
It was the point that Rush made, that we finally felt we had a spokesman for our side.
Thanks again, Tony. You touched so many lives and always for the better.
We will see what SurferBoy finds out.
Yup. Best way to address this. I do hope we can do something. It may be a few days, I would think. There must be a million things to attend to.
With that said, the world has become a sadder place with the passing of Tony Snow though Mr. Snow would probably dismiss my assessment. I watched a lot of the tribute to him this past weekend on FNC. At the end of Fox News Sunday, Juan Williams stated that Tony Snow could run and dunk a basketball. Brit Hume was flabbergasted and his last words of the program was Tony Snow could do anything.
May God bless Tony Snow.

I loved that bit about dunking the ball and Brit’s surprise.
Alert sent to SurferBoy. The Westboro Baptist Church plans a protest at the funeral.

I think it’s rare for the Washington Managing Editor to be overwhelmed but I believe that’s what he was on Saturday and Sunday.
I agree, save. Completely understandable.
I’m linking the very lovely piece that William Kristol has today in the NYT: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/14/opinion/14kristol.html?_r=2&hp=&oref=slogin&pagewanted=print&oref=slogin
Thanks for that link, Bahbah. That was a very good read.
Thank you, Luv. I am not sure I can listen just yet, but I will. Just looking at that picture brings tears to my eyes.
Thank you!
Bahbah, my first sorrow is of course for his family. I can't imagine their loss. We are so sad and we never even knew him in person--just can't imagine having been loved by him and then losing him so early.
After that, I am so sad for us, conservatives, and for our nation. What a gift to have a spokesman/writer who was the whole package---charming, witty, handsome, intelligent, articulate, kind, loyal, honest, etc....and now that precious gift is gone and far too soon.
Oh save—how awful!!! I am sure that the Patriot Riders will be honored to ride for Tony. I will pray that is the case.
What a beautiful post, dmd.
Very lovely indeed, Bahbah. Thank you.
Stunning and heartbreaking news. We have lost a truly courageous and Godly friend. Tony is happily greeting many, many friends on the other side of the veil this morning.
From Mark Levin:
“Tony Award [Mark R. Levin]
As I have been thinking of Tony, the last time I met him was on April 10th at Brent Bozell’s Media Research Center’s Dishonor Awards, where Tony received the William Buckley for Media Excellence. It’s hard to believe that was only three months ago. Tony gave a wonderful speech. I would encourage you to watch it here.
As I was there that night, having been a presenter, I went up to Tony at the end of the night and asked him how he was doing. He had a big smile on his face and said, almost in a matter of fact way, “I’m doing good.” And then he said to me, “How’s your ticker doing?” (As some know, I have had heart problems in the past.) He was such a remarkable and admirable individual.
P.S. - You might want to watch this too.”
