They have yet to point out where McCain appears in the article. All they do is get nasty if you ask where Mccain appears in this Breitbart piece.

I don’t think it is a stretch to ask that question.

CNN confirms that McCain was briefed on the operation yesterday, and notified today of the success of the mission just before he left to Mexico.

This must be a victory for the Bush administration then.

...and they’ll show us Katie Couric’s legs instead.

Katie Couric is an ugly, democrat shill...pretty much a repulsive creature all the way around.

If they deliberately show her legs on TV, I have not noticed.

Yeah that was telling .....yet I searched as if I am anything I am fair !

I do not like McCain ! Yet I will vote AGAINST Obama !

McCain was in the country when Colombia freed Ingrid Betancourt and three U.S. military contractors from leftist guerrillas. President Alvaro Uribe had told McCain and the two senators traveling with him, Joe Lieberman and Lindsey Graham, about the rescue plans when they arrived Tuesday night. The senators were holding a media availability at the time of the rescue and didn’t learn of its success until they were aboard a plane bound for Mexico.

.....no hurrah for Joe Lieberman and Lindsey Graham was understandable .......:o)

Incredible, huh? All that talking and pleading with no results, not to mention a few “strongly-worded letters” to FARC.

More details;

“We are the national army and you are all free”, that’s how they found out they were being rescued while in the helicopter.

The leader of this group of hostage takers was bound and left naked by the rescue group.

Full interview/speech by Betancourt on France 24, an English-language competitor to CNN.

You can watch on your computer using the Google gadget for France 24.

They have been full time on this news since it broke.

You're right on. I've noticed of late the same screen-names that magically appeared during Gore's run then they disappeared then reappeared for Kerry, disappeared and now once again reappearing for Obama.
One would think that such “Conservatives” would be bashing Obama no matter what unless they are these mysterious Obamacons and just really dislike McCain more.

I didn’t post the article and I’m lukewarm about McCain at best (could only support him against a Rat-weasel of the far left), but I think the true “Hurrah for McCain” is that he has been there in Colombia showing support for a friendly govt. that has been fighting and winning a tough war against left-wing terrorists, while our shameless Demagogues here in the USA love Chavez and FARC and Sandinistas; Obama and his pals are the ideological soulmates of the scum strongly opposed by McCain.

So, while I have no reason to think that McCain had anything to do with the specifics of this rescue, he does strongly support the govt. and army that pulled it off. Our Demagogues like Obama, Reid, Pelosi, Hillary, et al do not. I will say “Hurrah for McCain” on this. Hurrah that he supports Uribe and the anti-terrorist govt. of Colombia, and hurrah that he was there to show support for Colombia around the time that this operation happened to be going down.

We have only two real choices in Nov, whatever we think of the process that brought us to this point: we can support the candidate who is on the correct side of the GWOT, or we can help a socialist weasel like Obambi get into a position to be of great assistance to the likes of Chavez, FARC, Ahmawhackjob, et al. I am pretty close to a single-issue voter this year, Iraq and the GWOT, because Obambi would be such a disaster.

The contractors had been held for 5 years. There have been intensive efforts to get them free for all 5 years. If we didn’t succeed today, we would have kept trying.

Colombia is an outstanding friend, and I hope they continue to kick the FARC’s butt. This is just the latest in a string of victories over the last 6 months.

You are a very nasty and non conservative person. If the shoe fits, wear it.

So far I have read all (thus far) 80 posts on the thread and, honestly, you are the last person that should be calling other people "nasty".

You first started with referring to McCain as Juan. That set others off on a thread that should be about celebrating. They tried to point out that their problem with your posts was the insulting way you referred to him NOT that you were asking what his role was in this rescue.

If this site liked the likes of Juan McCain, I would never have come here.

See, there you go again, name calling a veteran. There are not too many of us that think McCain is conservative enough but we also admit that he is a damn sight better than an America hating Muslim. Your anger is better directed some place other than your fellow FRiends.

“Doesn’t this sorta look like the Columbian government could have done this any time they wanted to?

Rather than look good, this is rather troubling to me.”

No, they had to reach a tipping point where they could get enough HUMINT to find the hostages, and have the Communist terrorists disorganized enough to accept having Colombian Special Forces planted on them. They couldn't have done it without the Magic Laptop El Commandante Used To Have Before He Was Retired With a 5.56 Round to His Head.
