Obama not eligible to be CIC?

Posted on 06/27/2008 7:28:35 AM PDT by MGBGUN

What about this? Any truth to it?

Obama is NOT ELIGIBLE to be President. We already know that Obama is not QUALIFIED to be President, we now know that he is not ELIGIBLE to be President under American law. This is a great comment to a post over at Michelle Malkin’s blog:

On June 10th, 2008 at 8:37 am, legendx3 said: Barack Obama is not legally a U.S. Natural-born citizen according to the law on the books at the time of his birth, which falls between “December 24, 1952 to November 13, 1986? . Presidential office requires a natural-born citizen if the child was not born to two U.S. Citizen parents, which of course is what exempts John McCain though he was born in the Panama Canal . US Law very clearly stipulates: “…If only one parent was a U.S. Citizen at the time of your birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for at least ten years, at least five of which had to be after the age of 16.” Barack Obama’s father was not a U.S. Citizen and Obama’s mother was only 18 when Obama was born, which means though she had been a U.S. Citizen for 10 years, (or citizen perhaps because ofHawai’i being a territory) the mother fails the test for being so for at least 5 years **prior to** Barack Obama’s birth, but *after* age 16. It doesn’t matter *after* .. In essence, she was not old enough to qualify her son for automatic U.S. Citizenship. At most, there were only 2 years elapsed since his mother turned 16 at the time of Barack Obama’s birth when she was 18 in Hawai’i. His mother would have needed to have been 16+5= 21 years old, at the time of Barack Obama’s birth for him to have been a natural-born citizen. As aformentioned, she was a young college student at the time and was not. Barack Obama was already 3 years old at that time his mother would have needed to have waited to have him as the only U.S. Citizen parent. Obama instead should have been naturalized, but even then, that would still disqualify him from holding the office.

*** Naturalized citizens are ineligible to hold the office of President. *** Though Barack Obama was sent back to Hawaii at age 10, all the other info does not matter because his mother is the one who needed to have been a U.S. Citzen for 10 years prior to his birth on August 4, 1961, with 5 of those years being after age 16. Further, Obama may have had to have remained in the country for some time to protect any citizenship he would have had, rather than living in Indonesia . Now you can see why Obama’s aides stopped his speech about how we technically have more than 50 states, because it would have led to this discovery. This is very clear cut and a blaring violation of U.S. Election law. I think the Gov. Of California would be very interested in knowing this if Obama were elected President without being a natural-born U.S. Citizen, and it would set precedence.. Stay tuned to your TV sets because I suspect some of this information will be leaking through over the next several days…

Isn't this along the same lines as McCain was born in the Panama Canal zone, so therefore he is not eligible to be CIC?

Now, what was the difference? Bet you cannot guess. Who was McCain's mother and father. Were they US citizens?

Is there really anyone that thinks he would have gotten this far, if he wasn’t eligible?

He was not born. A crow shat on a fence post and the sun hatched him out.

That law was for children born OUTSIDE of the US and its territories.

Obama was born on US soil to a natural born citizen. He can serve.

You need a life, son. This is the kind of stuff that'll paint the GOP as kookish. Obama's weak on issues. Conspiracy theories won't get us anywhere.

I need to get a life............ lol

It’s not me hounding this topic to death on FR. It’s others posting threads . I only provided a source link to them.

I agree there are many things more important to take Obama to task over rather than this item. Now proceed on with exploration.

“Yep........ this topic has been beat, discussed, dissected, and still getting play...”

So do the topics of faked moon landings, bigfoot and 911 conspiracy theories. Hardly an endorsement of legitimacy.

What difference does it make? Obama was born in the United States of America. Andrew Jackson's parents weren't US citizens either. Should we take him off the $20 bill?

Take it to the Supreme Court and there would be a 5-4 ruling on it but who knows which way?

I rather have to agree that the intention of the qualification was that both mother and father were “loyal Americans”, i.e., citizens of the USA.

Unless someone can come up with rock-solid proof he was born in another country, this isn't going anywhere...and maybe not even then.

I'd like to become President. Although I am a UK FReeper, what you are saying is that the onus is on YOU to prove I wasn't born in America. I can just claim citizenship.

What's that? You'd like me to present my Birth Certificate? Umm, look, I put a photo-shopped fake up on my presidential website. Isn't that good enough for you?

For the purpose of establishing basic qualifications for holding elective office, the historic burden of proof in the US has always been on those trying to disprove a candidate’s qualifications. That means you have to prove that he’s not a natural born citizen, which I don’t think is even remotely possible.

Mommy got preggers in Africa and stayed long enough to have to be in the US for a certain period( I think 5 years) to be naturalized. She was only here a short time to have BHO. It's a legal thingy. Most people wouldn't think anything about it, but there are teams of lawyers looking at every orifice they can right now. If she was only in the US for a short time after being in Africa several years, there could be a problem. Mommy may not have been “naturalized” if she wasn't in America long enough. It would be the same problem if Juan Valdez is an “anchor baby” and decides to run for Prez. If mom wasn’t a naturalized citizen, he can't ever be president even though he is a citizen.

Panama Canal Zone was U.S. territory until it was turned over to the Panamanians under the Torrijos-Carter Treaty by Obama’s mentor in 1979.
