James Hansen, one of the world's leading climate scientists, will today call for the chief executives of large fossil fuel companies to be put on trial for high crimes against humanity and nature, accusing them of actively spreading doubt about global warming in the same way that tobacco companies blurred the links between smoking and cancer.
Hansen will use the symbolically charged 20th anniversary of his groundbreaking speech to the US Congress - in which he was among the first to sound the alarm over the reality of global warming - to argue that radical steps need to be taken immediately if the "perfect storm" of irreversible climate change is not to become inevitable.
Speaking before Congress again, he will accuse the chief executive officers of companies such as ExxonMobil and Peabody Energy of being fully aware of the disinformation about climate change they are spreading.

His sharpest words are reserved for the special interests he blames for public confusion about the nature of the global warming threat. "The problem is not political will, it's the alligator shoes - the lobbyists. It's the fact that money talks in Washington, and that democracy is not working the way it's intended to work."

This guy has really gone off the deep end. NASA needs to fire him and the gov’t needs to get rid of his buddy Hathaway as well. Both have been proven wrong, time and time again with their predictions. Hansens GISS temperature numbers are deviating so badly from the other 3 accepted temp measurement standards that he is becoming a laughing stock in the scientific community. Speaking of being funded by ‘big oil’, Hansen is funded by yours and my tax dollars. We need to start a petition to have him removed from his position. I know the founder of the weather channel has been agitating for a lawsuit to get the facts about this new science, er religion of global warming out. This may be his chance.

Guys like this Hansen clown are too far beyond insane to even try to parody. The quest for ManBearPig isn't as far gone as this. He's 99% sure it's all over on the CO2 front? The oil company execs ought to show some balls and sue Hansen for slander.

It is actually a REALLY GOOD THING that James Hansen has spouted off with this insanity as he is one of the top poster boys for the Global Warming hysteria.
That such a prominent spokesman would seriously propose the criminalization of dissent on this matter should open a lot of eyes to just how loony the Gore camp is and how frustrated they are that their insistence that ‘the debate is over’ is not heeded.
I hope Hansen’s word are WIDELY broadcast.
They will do a great deal to discredit his side.

The page has a short story about a former IPCC expert reviewer who wrote a book called “Lies and Traps in the Global Warming Affairs.”
I especially like the title of the preface: “The worst scientific scandal in the history.”
Too bad the book isn’t published in English. I bet it makes for good reading...

I have only read as far as your post but I think were you to be obeyed the rest off the debate would be over over.
Ahh...but first they must be broken on the rack and have an abject confession of guilt extracted for crimes as yet not charged or even invented.
