Just in case you didn't know it, Alicia Keys has informed us that Gangsta Rap was invented, apparently by white people, to get black people to kill each other. Also ... just in case you were aware of the bi-coastal feud between Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. ... that was a plot by the government and the media "to stop another great black leader from emerging."
What I find the most ridiculous, is that it is well known that Alicia Keys mother is White. It has always struck me as quite crazy, how a bi-racial person can attack half of their heritage.
I guess us whitey’s just wouldn’t understand.

Keys last album sold more copies in its 1st week of release than Sparks album has sold in 7 months of release.
Sparks need a lot of help right now, that album is a huge money loser for Jive. The association with Alicia would’ve helped a lot more than it hurt.

I’m biracial and among my black friends, it’s well-known that “it’s always the light-skinned brothers” who overcompensate for their light skin by acting militant. It even goes back to Malcolm X, frankly.
That’s why I don’t like Obama on a very personal level. His hatred and rejection of half his heritage (arguably more than half since his father was a foreigner and Obama is, politics aside, definitely American.)
I know some blame it on the ‘one drop rule’ but I think radical black nationalism and Leftist abettors have contributed far more to this identification with the ‘oppressed’ that is at the heart of such people as Keys.

one note though - Tipper Gore was demonized by heavy metalists for her trying to get legislation passed on labeling their metal rock LPs that had sexual and / or violent lyrics.
