What I find the most ridiculous, is that it is well known that Alicia Keys mother is White. It has always struck me as quite crazy, how a bi-racial person can attack half of their heritage.
I guess us whitey’s just wouldn’t understand.
I’m biracial and among my black friends, it’s well-known that “it’s always the light-skinned brothers” who overcompensate for their light skin by acting militant. It even goes back to Malcolm X, frankly.
That’s why I don’t like Obama on a very personal level. His hatred and rejection of half his heritage (arguably more than half since his father was a foreigner and Obama is, politics aside, definitely American.)
I know some blame it on the ‘one drop rule’ but I think radical black nationalism and Leftist abettors have contributed far more to this identification with the ‘oppressed’ that is at the heart of such people as Keys.
