WASHINGTON - Republican presidential candidate John McCain admitted on Saturday it can be difficult at times to be proud of the United States.
“I’ll admit to you … that it’s tough in some respects,” McCain said when asked by a questioner at a town hall meeting how to be proud of the country.
“We have not always done things right and we mismanaged the war in Iraq very badly for nearly four years.”
McCain’s wife, Cindy, pounced on Michelle Obama, the wife of presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama, for saying in February that she was proud of her country “for the first time in my adult life.”
The Arizona senator said it was important for the United States to be more humble and inclusive.

From here on in the press is going to take every single sound bite that can be used to piss off conservatives and push it in our faces. So much of it will be out of context. PLEASE, PLEASE let’s not fall into this trap and let the press manipulate us as well. I think we’re smarter than that.
Now we know what it will be like if Uncle Fester here ever gets to run the country. I’m voting third party.
He is making me sick. Obama, however, makes me want to throw up.
I would like to see all the incumbent republicans voted out next time.

McCain’s decisions and comments are an appeal to moderates. But, that is where his support has always been. If anyone can bring him to power, they can (just like they made him the GOP nominee).

His personal history isn’t all that much to be proud of either. Yes, he served in the military and was a POW. Other than that, he hasn’t done squat.
We can’t help it...it’s either RINO McCain or Hussein. Bob Barr is for the Libertarian Party so that’s another alternative.
