A possible tornado has struck the Litle (spelling from site?) Sioux Scout Camp in Iowa. Very large response is being reported by media. Large number of injuries.
Weaver Hall at KState took heavy damage - parts of the roof and outer walls sheered off, windows blown out, a restricted laboratory on the 3rd floor destroyed.
Emergency services confirming reports of significant damage to KState campus and businesses in Manhattan.
I’ve been on the phone with my best friend the past two hours. Two of her nephews were at the scout camp. We just got word that they were at a high school....I guess that’s where the non-injured are being picked up by parents. Her sister was on her way there right this minute to pick them up!!!!
Thank you, God. Thank you for your prayers, Freepers!
Tornado touched down 5 miles west of Wettmore about 12:05 a.m.
That’s wonderful news Danette! I’m so glad for your friend. I can’t imagine how worried and terrified they must’ve been.
Prayers definitely continuing, and will for some time. There are a lot of people out there right now in need of them.
I’m so relieved. The “wait” has been very draining. I’m staying up to pray right along with all of you tonight.
Reporter now saying it’s WEBER Hall, not WEAVER Hall as I previously typed. Sorry about that.
Thank you for keeping on with the news for this nightmare.
Stay safe my friend.
I didn't want to post this earlier because it wasn't public information at the time...CGG I assume this is what you were talking about, terrible tragedy to add to your prayer list:

(Curlew, IA)--Palo Alto county sheriff's officers say a rural Curlew man was killed by lightning this [Wednesday] morning.
Sheriff Dennis Goeders says 20 year old Galen F. Smith was found unresponsive around 9:30 this morning.
Ambulance crews took Smith to the Palo Alto county hospital where he was pronounced dead. Smith was a mechanical engineering student at Iowa State University.
Authorities say he was helping his father in the yard at the time of the strike.
He was helping with chores as he was home from college for the summer. This was not a bad storm at the time; more of a random strike. A great kid; simply terrible.

It hurts to loose a loved one and when they are the special ones, it is even more difficult to deal with it.......I am sorry that this has happened.

The police radio scanner, says the roads are flooding, basements are filling with water and the kids are out and keeping the police busy.
Buzzardville has knee deep water.
Third and Walnut, flooded and manhole covers are popping.
You should be able to listen on the internet, I am managing to do so on a dial up connection.

Some will help, yes, many will.
These were getting stuck in the flood waters and the cops were taking time to rescue them.
At least one group of kids were taken out, the car was left where it sat.
BTTT
..but this young man did well and I'm glad his father and brother are there with him...
..In the end, he said 'the Grace of God prevented even worse damage'...and I knew he meant it.
Now I'm in tears....
