Dear Freepers: It is Time to Support John McCain
June 5 2008 | jveritas

Posted on 06/05/2008 6:25:12 PM PDT by jveritas

In this election we have very a clear choice to make.

A choice between Victory against Islamic Terrorism or surrender to our terrorist enemy.

A choice between free market capitalist economy or socialism.

A choice between constructionist judges or liberal judges who legislate from the bench.

A choice between Life for the unborn or abortion on demand going wild.

A choice between lower taxes or higher taxes.

A choice between small government or big government.

A choice between John McCain or Barack Obama.

Let us choose John McCain. A Patriot, a war hero, and would be an excellent President.

God Bless America and our brave troops.

Sorry Sitetest.
I am just so pissed off at John McCain an all that he stands for and against.
Not intended personally, it just makes me nuts that people don’t realize, he is basically a white Obambi with war hero status.
Now, I am sure I will be banned!

So you are perfectly content with allowing a Marxist to waltz right into the White House?

Are you talking about the one with the R, or the one with the D?

He voted for Alito then said he’d never nominate anyone like him before changing and saying Alito is exactly what he would nominate...

And way back he compared Roberts and Ginsburg as both constructionists. No sale.

And that’s as opposed to Obama who will nominate far left liberals who will wear their liberalism on their sleeves, knowing there aren’t enough Republicans in the Senate to stop ‘em? I’m betting Obama’s first Justice nominee will be Eric Holder. Sure hope everyone can live with that.

All the highly principled FReepers and others of like mind got us Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Reid. Guess they’ll give us President Obama and all 3 branches of the government for the Dems as well. That’ll show them RINOs.

Dear acapesket,

“I am just so pissed off at John McCain an all that he stands for and against.”

There's stuff I agree with him on, there's stuff that I don't, including important stuff.

“Not intended personally, it just makes me nuts that people don’t realize, he is basically a white Obambi with war hero status.”

Here, I differ.

If one said, “he is basically a male HR Clinton with war hero status.”

I'd count that something of an exaggeration, but not too especially far off from the truth.

But Snob-ama is a complete communist. He is a convinced and complete cultural marxist. With Sen. Clinton, I expected four or eight more years of looting directed to the Clinton's private accounts, and some more drift toward socialism and liberalism. With Snob-ama, I wouldn't be surprised at a coup d'etat formally ending our constitutional government, and installing him as president for life.

Bill Clinton was the first American president who wasn't a patriot. He loved himself, not his country. Mrs. Clinton is similar.

But Snob-ama would be the first president who actually would hate his country.

Big difference.

>> Stop with the straw man, OK? With McCain, we aren’t even getting 50/50 <<

According to the American Conservative Union, we are getting well over 50%. McCain votes their positions, year after year, 70% of the time or more. The only "straw man arguement" is you pretending McCain has a conservative record like so-called "Republican" Linc Chafee (he voted with the ACU a pathetic 16% of the time his last year office, so if CHAFEE was nominated for President we wouldn't "even be getting 50/50")

McCain is a backstabber and a jerk fairly often, but nevertheless he DOES vote "with us" over 50% of the time.

You may not like the facts because they go against your agenda, but those are the facts.

Reading many of the posts on this topic made me realize a bunch of so called freepers are one trick pony idiots. Unfortunately they can't see beyond their "poor me, I'm a conservative and have principles". BS!

John McCain was never a choice for me; but, I'm not ready to let my children and grandchildren live under socialism or communism under the leadership of Obama. My choice and many others is clear; many of us are not cry baby children taking the ball and going home, we are taking the fight to our state elections and working hard for conservative candidates. Why? Because if we can find and elect strong conservatives with moral and unshakeable conviction and leadership qualities we can pursue our dreams. And anyone with a brain can see that at this crucial election year Obama cannot become POTUS. We can't control McCain but we can have some voice with a strong contingent of conservative congressmen.

Many on this post need to get their heads out of the sand and GO TO WORK! Quit crying and complaining and talking about principles that seem to resonate around McCain issues that many of us find indefensible. However, he is our nominee(not my choice) and many of you sound like Alex Baldwin, Jane Fonda, etc., ready and willing to move to France. Go ahead, we won't miss you and don't let the door hit you on the way out.

My love is for my GOD, family and country and I'll be damned if I let a Marxist be elected as my president. I don't have to hold my nose to vote for McCain and I will work hard for my state conservative candidates.

GOD bless America!

Beared repeating...

With that, I'm going to bed...I really can't take any more of these whiny little thumb suckers with their puffed up egos - and no reasoning power.

Thanks for giving me a sane post to end with.

Dear Ingtar,

“And way back he compared Roberts and Ginsburg as both constructionists. No sale.”

Do you have a reference for that?

Thanks,

We had to remove your post because material from rawstory.com is not welcome on Free Republic.

Thank you for the explanation.

However, although I won't link to the source in the future, I believe the quote is very useful from a historical perspective.

The article was published on December 27, 2006 and was highly critical of McCain's support of the Surge strategy that had yet to be implemented. The quote even mentions conservative critics of the Surge.

It serves to document that, back in 2006 when McCain had almost no allies on this issue and the advocacy of the Surge was damaging him severely, McCain was steadfastly advocating the military strategy that has now turned the war around towards the path to Victory.

McCain will nominate one, count it, one constructionist judge. When they are denied, he will succumb to the same disease he has for the last years: passing any legislation is a legacy. He’ll nominate judges his “friends” in the Senate will accept... indistinguishable from those the Dim with the D after their name nominates.

And in 2006 I voted for the RINO running in our Senate seat - he is the only one that won. I voted lesser of evil and gained nothing. Enough is enough.

>> Hate to break it to you, but they were in discussions with McCain, initiated by McCain, when Jumpin’ Jeffords made the talks moot. <<

Do you "think" they were in discussions with McCain, or can you cite an actual SOURCE where McCain or his office says "the Dems have made an offer to me to join their caucus and I'm seriously considering it at this time"

Please feel free to post examples of this. Until then it's as "factual" as all the freepers who insisted (via their own spectulation, no actual EVIDENCE) that McCain promised Huckabee or Lieberman the veep slot.

Oh, I fully intend to vote for every conservative that appears on my ballot. You go right ahead and vote for the most liberal candidate that the republican party could have possibly nominated and then wonder why in the next election cycle you can't even begin to tell a democrat from a republican. One definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

Your advice to me may be to 'grow up'. My return advice to you would get my posting privileges revoked and you're not worth it. Have a great night!

Only DUmmies will vote #2.

Wow, and to think I wasn't going to vote for McCain. Your compelling argument has swayed me ....NOT!

When the world comes to an end, you can blame me.
