McCain will nominate one, count it, one constructionist judge. When they are denied, he will succumb to the same disease he has for the last years: passing any legislation is a legacy. He’ll nominate judges his “friends” in the Senate will accept... indistinguishable from those the Dim with the D after their name nominates.

And in 2006 I voted for the RINO running in our Senate seat - he is the only one that won. I voted lesser of evil and gained nothing. Enough is enough.

when you think of it, GWB - endlessly lambasted on these threads as a RINO - did a better job on his SCOTUS nominations than either his father OR Reagan. (well, ‘cept for that Harriet Miers incident).

In particular, I think Roberts has been amazing ... why, Kennedy and even Stevens are voting more conservative under his leadership. If sitting on the bench wouldn’t bore him to death, I can see McCain appointing Fred Thompson to the High Court. That I could live with.

Every time I think about what a McCain nominated Supreme might look like, I envision that strong constructionist judge ...David Souter.
