People say a lot of things when they’re mad. We’ll see if they actually follow through in November. My guess is most of them will return to the Democratic fold, just like most Republicans will end up voting for McCain once they’re finished letting off steam.

Very wise words. And accurate too.

It depends on lots of factors. If it’s a normal year, and if GOP’s support is not in the dump, this alone will easily give McCain a blowout win. However, this is not a normal year, I’m pretty sure the defection rate will be higher than past elections because of the deep animosity between Obama and Clinton supporters, but so is the defection rate by GOP base and independent voters from McCain.

Election is all number’s game. It all ends up with who can cross 50%.

But I do believe the threat of these white women is very real. Identity politics is very powerful and it makes people’s decision irrational.

I do believe the real risk here is Obama/Clinton ticket. It will be a blowout victory... I don’t believe there will be enough white male to deny rats such victory in an ‘abnormal’ election year.

I think the rift between the Hillaryites and the Obamaites is much deeper than the rift between McCain and conservatives. There will be an enormous contingent of dems voting for McCain in November. After all, he IS just another Demorcrat, and they know it.

Bambi stole the beasts thunder and her rightful Destiny. The old crones will NEVER forgive him for that.

I don't think so. These women feel burned by the anti-Clinton sentiment of the press and the DNC, which in their view is more than slightly tinged with misogyny. From what I've been reading on Democratic blogs, a lot of them feel outraged and disgusted by the party bigwigs' preference for a lesser qualifed male candidate over a female candidate with superior intelligence/credentials. They are deeply disillusioned with the party.

Don't count on it. The right has been let down by eight years of "compassionate conservatism" and the contagion of RINOism in congress.

Republicans haven't been dealt a worse electoral hand in as long as I can remember, and I can't ever remember hearing and reading as much sheer disgust and disagreement of the base with their nominee, ever in my life.

Count on millions of write-ins this November if McCain is still our nominee. McCain doesn't ignite our base - he inflames them.

I think what you are not seeing is the McCain is so close to being a Democrat that they have no problem voting for him at all. For that reason, I think a lot of Dims, especially older females who prefer having a man in charge, will vote for him.

Myself, I can’t vote for any of the three, Clinton, Obama or McCain. I can’t live with this idea of open borders and amnesty for all.

You do not understand "scorned women" at all. They never, ever, ever forget.
