You are absolutely right, he is just putting some distance between himself and the TCC, but on the news he didn't scorn the church, he just resigned from their roll.

He wished them good fortune and blessings which translates to "Keep up the Good Work Folks".

I lived in Chicago for 27 years, and had never been to Trinity, but I knew Jeremiah Wright was a bombastic over-the-top hater of Whitey. I also knew Pfleger was a flake and that Ayers was a terrorist.

Barak is not exactly quick to understand what's going on around him.

Normally you withdraw your name from membership or transfer membership.

My guess is that he was never very regular in attendance OR active in any way.

The video of Pfleger’s vicious rant also showed virtually everyone in the congregation on their feet well before the end, waving and laughing and shouting and applauding in approval at what Pfleger said. Nothing is being misinterepreted or taken out of context - the public is learning about exactly waht that congregation is all about, the racism and the hate and the far-left America-hating rants.

Obama is resigning from the church because he’s run out of ways to spin and finesse what it is really all about.
