The GOP wouldn’t have the balls to use them, even if they existed... 527s, on the other hand...

It's a lousy hand the GOP is always dealing with from the get-go no matter how strong/conservative a nominee is or is not when they have to counter emotional conclusions from the Dems, the media, the teachers, Hollywood etc.

The Dems can always have more open association with some of their 527's but the media will not demand that the Dem nominee needs to squelch the 527's supporting him/her while of course McCain will told he has to.

He couldn’t disown the Pastor, and the Pastor explained that Obama’s rejection wasn’t personal, he needs to say these things to get elected.

The Catholic priest wasn’t even from his Church but he was a 20 year associate of Obama.

Kicking the whole church aside is something he never discussed.

Oprah did it some time back. She must’ve talked to her boy about what it would do to him in the general election.

He could have gotten such a call. But just my opinion, I don’t think he needed one. He knows these church brothers are out to destroy his chances or they wouldn’t keep doing what they’re doing so openly and brazenly, even attacking hillary by name and mocking her and ALL whites like this priest did.

It’s transparent why he’s leaving the church now. The campaign can’t take the trouble the church is causing.

What I can not understand is why he didn't wait a couple weeks until after he had wrapped up the nomination. Then again by doing it before he (presumably) wrapped up the nomination he can claim a fresh start from day one as the nominee. Still it seems to give Puerto Rico, Montana and Oregon(?) voters one last chance to give Hillary a little Mo.
