ASHLAND, Ohio (AP) - Former White House press secretary Tony Snow, diagnosed with cancer three years ago, canceled a speaking appearance at Ohio's Ashland University because of an unspecified illness, the university announced Wednesday.

Good thoughts and prayers continue! My daughter’s mother in law is fighting the same type of cancer, and she, too, is an inspiration. Keep fighting the good fight! Looking forward to being able to see you on TV (You are the only reason CNN will be turned on in my house) or hearing you on the radio soon! Be well my FRiend!
Happy Birthday! You share my daughter’s birthday, June 1st. Two of my favorite people, sharing the same birthday! Hope you’ll have a good day on Sunday so you can enjoy the celebration!
I remember reading that also at the time of his diagnosis, and also being quite moved. The Holy Spirit is moving in him and in us here, that "we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ."
Good thoughts and prayers coming your way from San Francisco! As I mentioned in a post to Tony, my daughter’s mother in law, Lucy, has a similar diagnosis, and is not letting it get her down! She still takes care of her husband who suffered a dibilitating stroke a few years ago, and amazes us with her positive attitude and grace! You, as well as Lucy and Tony, are an inspiration. Please know that you have many FRiends!
So good to see you save! I’ve missed you!!
Thanks for the ping, dina!!
Glad you’re here, Fox!! Can’t say it’s good to see you, since I was afraid to look, knowing how you forget to put on that bathrobe now that you’re getting older and a bit forgetful!
Hope all is well!
So sorry to hear of your son’s illness! Will add him to my prayer list! And, thank him for his service. We are eternally grateful!!
Tony, so many of us love and respect you more than you'll ever know. It's so easy to become discouraged about the state of our politics these days, until one looks at the great example you set. You've always been strong about your political point of view without being disagreeable and hateful, and for that I will always be thankful. I wish more people would learn that lesson, that it is entirely possible to have and express a strong point of view without tilting over into spite, hate and venom. The nation, indeed the world, would be better off for it.
My most hearfelt wish and prayers for you are that you beat the cancer and go on to live a long life. I hope God lets you see your kids grow up and have kids of their own, and let's your grandchildren grow up enough to remember their granddad as adults. Family is everything.
Prayers up. Get well soon.
Prayers for you, too, as you seem to be going through something similar to what Tony was going through. I pray that you get through the ordeal soon, and that God gives you His healing touch.
Thank you for the reminder, Dina...and Foxy.
Please ping me if there is a thread started. I sure do want
to participate in the celebration of yet another birthday
of our FRiend! WOOHOO!
Thank you for your very kind post and for the service your family has and continues to give us all.
Cancer is a tough road- but watching my son fight it for the last 3 years has been touching, inspiring and simply amazing at times. You know..the radiation..surgery, endless chemo..it shows the character of a person- in surprising ways. My son has said many times he would never have been prepared for fighting cancer if he hadn’t fought in combat; the training and discipline he learned in the Army has kept him going. That- and the great irreverent humor that it seems all GI’s have :)
At the moment he’s in remission- working and living every day he’s given.
I will show him your post- he is always interested in the experiences of other cancer survivors.
Many thanks to you both- my son gratefully welcomes prayers on his behalf (as does his Ma:)
My guess is that McClellan was one of those “bitter” people Obama alluded to and instead of turning to religion, Scott turned to a Left wing editor who helped him pen a vicious piece of innuendo and distortion. I could barely stand to watch McClellan as he allowed the press to run ram-shod over the President. I definitely won't watch him defend his book on TV. BTW: his book should be categorized as fiction, just like the rest of the published Left Wing hit pieces.
Gee, I am beginning to sound like Senator Bob Dole. I think he may have had too much Viagra, but it was fun to read the letter of contempt that he sent to Scott.
Thank you. And, thank you.
Why does everyone think my serious posts are funny and my funny posts are serious? Guess I had better ask Tony for a little more instruction in political commentary!

Actually, I am on a diet so there is less of my body to be seen. I am attending my 45th class reunion at Dartmouth College in June and I want to look my best. So far I have not quite made it into my 32W jeans from the ‘60s, but I can see my knee caps.
To your question: all is well. Hope the same applies to you. Are you dumping Mr. PTD for someone of the same sex now that it will be legal in your part of the country. [But, then, who would take out the trash?!]

Did you go over to Crawford for the wedding? I was trying to look closely at the pictures to see if I saw you in the Bush bushes. 8)
All the best, Tony. You are in our prayers.
Will check back on Tony's Thread later.
PS: Tony, you said you were going to write a book or two. Just exactly what subject did you have in mind?! 8)
