STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) Republican John McCain on Thursday rejected endorsements from two influential but controversial televangelists, saying there is no place for their incendiary criticisms of other faiths.
McCain rejected the months-old endorsement of Texas preacher John Hagee after an audio recording surfaced in which the preacher said God sent Adolf Hitler to help Jews reach the promised land. McCain called the comment "crazy and unacceptable."
He later repudiated the support of Rod Parsley, an Ohio preacher who has sharply criticized Islam and called the religion inherently violent.
McCain issued a statement Thursday afternoon announcing his decision about Hagee.
"Obviously, I find these remarks and others deeply offensive and indefensible, and I repudiate them. I did not know of them before Reverend Hagee's endorsement, and I feel I must reject his endorsement as well," he said.

Note Obama has been OK with Hamas liking him and comparing him to JFK.
If we can keep enough conservatives in Congress we might be able to successfully stymie his Amnesty ambitions. With either of the other 2 dorks in office it'll surely be lights out.
Now, this is the McCain, that I know. Seek out, invite in, and then punch ‘em in the gut. We have seen this story. Fool conservatives, then kick ‘em.
This has been a long time coming, but I will not support (or vote for) John McCain.

McCain’s a “New Republican”, which means, he’s a deballed Republican who has morphed into a Democrat.
This is a mutual agreement between McCain and Hagee.
Ok.....i’m gonna treat myself this summer for next fall.

My daughter manages Cole Haan here in Music City...I am burned out with her 50% off...great for luggage though
Hagee says some wacky things about Catholics and has some odd ideas about Christians and Jews
but ....his cultural conservatism is strong...quite
but who knows....maybe the state should raid that retreat just to be on the safe side
I wonder what McCain would have to say about the Rev. Franklin Graham, Billy’s son, who called Islam a “very evil and wicked religion”.

I wonder what Solomon’s riches would amount to today?
I don’t know that it’s right or wrong for a pastor to have a lot of money - but I think it’s wrong to be upset that there is money. A lot of non-profits are profitable.
I’m not a huge Haggee fan, but I’m not aware of anything he has actually said that I disagree with. Posts like yours just throw mud into the situation.
What about most of the people in Iraq and Afghanistan who we are helping? A lot of them are Muslim. Should we just assume that they are violent terrorists, or potential terrorists just because they are Muslim?
Most of those people are awfully glad we came to help them, and they are friendly. Should we just pack up and go home? Should we just assume they weren’t worthy of their help because they belong to a faith that’s considered to be violent? There are many Muslims there and here that were attacked because they were considered too peaceful, too friendly to others not of the faith!
Excuse me, but it is “weren’t worthy of our help”, not “their help”, in that second paragraph. (my bad)
The MSM is hard at work trying to draw moral equivalence between Hagee and Jeremiah Wright. There is none. What Hagee said was stupid but McCain he never had a pastoral relationship with Hagee. Nor did he attend his church with his family for 20 years and consider him a mentor or “spiritual guide” while listening to sermons based on hate and bizarre conspiracy theories. The issue is, as always, being hyped by the MSM as a smoke screen to distract attention from Obama’s very REAL and SERIOUS problems with Wright.
What did he say about Catholics? Somehow that didn’t matter; now that this stuff comes out about Hitler and the jewish community and he’s history. I don’t think he would have been canned were it just the catholic derogatory remarks- and that is really saying something.
Flashback! McCain 2000:
Beliefnetcom: "McCain Courting Christian Conservatives" (AP) McCain condemned evangelist leaders Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell as "agents of intolerance" during his 2000 run.
Because it worked sooo well the last time...
17 years in the M.E. and N. Africa proved to me beyond a shadow of a doubt Islam is the enemy of civilization. No apologies.
Bush hasn’t admitted who the enemy is, either. Needless to say, it’s way tough to beat an enemy when you’re so hamstrung by political correctness that you won’t even identify that enemy.
As for McCain, he’s repugnant. I’ve never heard the Hagee comment on Hitler but if he said anything like that, I too would reject his endorsement. But to reject someone because they dared criticize Islam? Classic McCain.
