US Senator Edward M. Kennedy, the veteran lawmaker from Massachusetts who is the last surviving brother in the legendary Kennedy family, has been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor, his doctors said today.
Specialists in Boston and around the country said the information released indicated that Kennedy has terminal cancer and might have only a limited time to live.

So tempted to say something snide...plenty of justification...
But I can’t bring myself to wish a political opponent ill. Prayers for his family, and for his soul.
Jesus tells me to love and pray for my enemies, so I’m just going to say that I’ll be praying for him to have a full recovery so that he can enjoy his retirement.
Cancer is a horrible disease that I wouldn’t wish upon anyone. I hope that Senator Kennedy finds peace with God before his time is up.
Prayers that he makes his peace with God and asks for forgiveness.
Not good. Once cancer hits the brain, deterioration sets in pretty quickly, if my dad was any indication.
If I were Teddy, I’d do the smart thing and resign from the Senate effective immediately, so he can spend what little time he might have left dealing with however he and his family wish to deal with it, whether medically or not.
Yes, well. .. if we look hard enough we can find redeeming qualities in everyone. And to give the man credit, he IS an elected official, elected by the people. I disagree with just about all of his policies and most of his legislation, but thats just me. Prayers for him and his family, afterall he is just as human as you and I.
My cousin died of this. He lasted about a year after they found it. I was a LOT younger and healthier than Teddy.
Commentator Marc Lamont on Fox News: Senator Kennedy, a moral leader in the US....
Boy,*that* should get the DUmmies going!
“Brain cancer - 18 months.”
Depends on the kind of tumor. I understand it is malignant, but some are much more aggressive than others. They are making remarkable strides in this field. In 1996 my friend was told to go home and prepare to die, no treatment possible for his brain tumor. We found some good doctors and good drugs, and I understand he’s still alive, but it was not an aggressively growing tumor.
Cancerous?
Few, if any (Calhoun and Clay and a couple of Tafts come to mind), have ever been on front/center stage for as long as this guy. Hope he retires in order to give himself a favorable chance to recuperate. I mean that.
Prayers for Senator Kennedy.
Prayers for Senator Kennedy and his family. May he embrace Christ as his Savior before it is too late.
All is vanity, our book is being written everyday to be read back to us at a later time.
Issues? You want to strategize over this possibilities?
Human first, politician somewhere after that.
Godspeed, Senator Kennedy.
