While I don’t buy into global warming for a second, I have ben thinking about this story. We might think 31k is significant, but how does 31k compare to the hundreds of thusands (if not millions) of scientists who support man-made gloabal warming lockstep? This is a drop in the pan, realistically. I’m surprised it’s even been covered by newsmax.

Scientists? Pffft.
We’ve got a bloated politician and high-school drop-out entertainers who have researched and studied the climate. I’m sure they know what they’re talking about.

The whole global-warming environmentalist thing is a religion, and we’re not allowed to honestly, intellectually discuss a religion.

Looks like it’s up to the pajama mudeen (sic) to circulate this story and stress that the msm did NOT do it.
Link in #30 gives details about the signers.
We need to send a pithy paragraph of explanation plus link in #30 to our email addresses, because it’s not going to be known otherwise.
The news conference - as someone has already noted was held on May 19, not 20th. Be careful with that kind of detail because the attack against the petition will be “well, if they can’t even get the date right, what else did they get wrong.”

If 31,000 scientists had endorse Barack Obama at the same time it would’ve made world news.

If you want to get a visual perspective on how many people 31,000 are then just take a look at Obama’s rally on Sunday in Portland, that’s about 30,000 people (not the 75,000 they claimed)

One would think that the public announcement of this petition, signed by 31,072 scientists (including over 9,000 Ph.Ds), and announced at the National Press Club itself, would garner quite a lot of publicity.
Ah, no!
That's not the way it works with the left-controlled MSM. They will only accept their numbers, even if the great majority of real scientists gave conclusive evidence against global warming.
If just a few "scientists are cited as believing in "global warming", then that will be enough for the liberal-controlled press to classify it as a "consensus of scientists". Now, when 100% of scientists come out against the global warming "science", maybe then the liberal press might re-think their religion of "global warming". But even then, they would have to hear it from their leader, Al Gore, that he was wrong too, before they admit they were wrong.

Hubby told me this morning that HE'D received a letter a few weeks ago, asking him to sign the statement. He has a PhD in Statistics, and reckons that the folks doing this sent letters to thousands of PhDs in the country.
That's OK, the more folks who have the scales dropped from their eyes about AGW, the better!
