It appears the Clinton campaign is still going after NBC/MSNBC for their coverage of the candidiate. This time, they are targeting Tim Russert for telling viewers Tuesday night: "We now know who the Democratic nominee is going to be, and no one is going to dispute it."
Howard Kurtz writes today that Jay Carson, Clinton's press secretary, "fired off an e-mail yesterday to Chuck Todd, NBC's political director. While assuring Todd that he was 'not trying to be a jerk,' Carson wrote: 'Can you think of one good reason we should continue to cart you guys around the country with us given that your network has declared the entire race over?'"
Well, well. Of course, NBC and everyone else pays to be on the flights. And further, NBC was hardly the only network declaring it's over.
ABC's George Stephanopoulos, the same George Stephanopoulos who, because he once worked for Pres. Clinton, has been accused of being cozy with the campaign, made the declaration much earlier than his competitors. But the call went nearly unnoticed because Stephanopoulos said it during the west coast update of World News. At 9:33 ET (6:33 PT), Stephanopoulos told anchor Charlie Gibson:
"There is no math for her to come back. There's no realistic path for the nomination now for Hillary Clinton. Barring some kind of revelation, that drops Obama from the race, he is going to be the nominee." Mind you, that was almost three hours and 45 minutes before ABC, NBC, FNC and CNN called Indiana for Clinton.
Far be it from me to get involved in a three way fight between Hillary, NBC, and Obama.
YEAH!!!!!!!
What you said........
Could anyone, in their wildest, delusional, drug induced dreams, imagine a Republican chewing out the media because they don’t like the coverage they’re getting? The talking heads would have blood shooting out of their eyes and they’d be raving hysterically about the First Amendment. Hillary’s problem is that her lap dog has found a new lap.
Hellary is gonna quit campaigning when Obama offers her the VP job, then when she gets into office she’ll have him offed......It’s called Clinton politics!
The Clinton strategy
Deny, Delay, Destroy
Figure deny how you want,
But delay has worked. They successfully delayed Obama becoming the nominee
We will enter phase III after June 4. They will destroy Obama after the voting is done and there is no fear of blow back from voters who have not voted yet, or accusations of dirty tricks pointed at the campaign.
Obama is toast...It will escalate slowly and reach a fever pitch about the July 4th and last for two weeks and slowly taper off into lat July. By then the only choice will be Hillary!
As sure as the sun comes up this will come to pass.
I agree. She’s got the goods on him.
$6 million is a small price to pay to position yourself for either a VP slot or as the #1 dem party candidate in 2012 after you have had the chance to weaken the Big O. She is walking a fine line between ensuring that Obama will not win the general election and being blamed for ruining it for him.
Right, and she will do everything behind the scenes to make an Obama run fail so she has a shot at 2012.
This is outstanding. Can we please get Keith Olbermann involved. (Get off your duff, Olbermann). Russert is way too nice (even as a lib). We need some real trash talking and I cannot think of a better, totally rude and crude match-up than Olbermann vs. Hillary. IT could really be fun.
do you really think that there will be strong support for Hillary in ‘12 among Democrats for her to try again?
So for the Clintons, this campaign will never end. The voting period in the states ends on June 3rd, but the political manuvering never ends. I think you’re on to something.
Hang in there. Don't give up the ship. This one's for the girls. etc.
It ain’t over ‘til we say its over!
Oh yea, the anti-hillary contingent that is the primary reason Fauxbama even exists, will come home to roost tail between their legs after watching their man get pasted in Nov.
Don’t kid yourself, HillBilly is going nowhere. If she does not get the nomination, she will make sure Fauxbama does not win, and leave herself in a solid position for the next election.
The narative is quite simple.. Just like Regan leveraged 76 to get the nomination in 80. For all of Clinton’s faults.. lack of ambition is NOT one of em. If she is not the nominee this time, she’ll make damned sure she’s sitting pretty for next time, and she’ll run virtually unopposed.
