My wife Mrs. Don-o is having gastric bypass surgery on Thursday, May 8. If all goes well, she should be discharged on Saturday.
She is very confident in the surgeon, who has done over 1800 of these operations (four hour procedure). She is doing all the research possible on her own and expects do fabulously.
The hope is for almost instant relief from diabetes and three or four related co-morbidities. The major post-op risk, statistically, is pulmonary embolism. In her case, this risk is mitigated by the fact that she's been walking and exercising a whole lot, but exacerbated by the fact that she has a presently incurable and progressive form of COPD (rheumatoid-related bronchiolitis.)
She says if y'all would pray for her she'll breathe a lot easier (!) Thanks, everybody.
Prayer up for Mrs. Don-o! I’m expecting to see you back on FR and feeling great very soon. ((hugs))
Do prayers cost so much that one is afraid to spend them?
Prayers on the way, let us know how she is.

Prayers up! May God bless your family.
As someone who has stood by while his wife has been in surgery I know how difficult it can be. I’ll say a prayer for both of you.
Stay positive. We're all pulling for you!!
Do keep us posted on her progress.

Thanks for letting us know this was coming up. Sorry it’s going to be necessary, but here’s to a successful and very healthy outcome.
Mrs. Don-O will be included in my prayers. Take care...
That is not a problem. I already do the shopping and she is already planning the post op diet. The medical team has very specific instructions and Mrs D is very good at following such instructions.
She makes charts!
She has my prayers as well for a speedy recovery.
Dear Lord,
Thank You for Mr. and Mrs. Don-O and their love for each other.
Please comfort and bless them and have them look to You as Mrs.
Don-O goes through surgery.
Please guide the doctors, nurses and caregivers.
