THE RACE: The presidential race for Democrats nationally
___
THE NUMBERS
Barack Obama, 54 percent
Hillary Rodham Clinton, 35 percent
___
OF INTEREST:
Obama's huge lead in this Newsweek poll marks a big shift from the magazine's last survey in March, when he and Clinton were essentially tied. Besides Obama's usual leads among men, blacks and young people, he leads in this poll among women and older voters and is about even among whites. In a matchup against Republican candidate John McCain, both Democrats are ahead slightly.
___
The Newsweek poll was conducted April 16-17 by Princeton Survey Research Associated International. It involved telephone interviews with 1,209 registered voters, for whom the margin of sampling error was plus or minus 3 percentage points. Included were interviews with 588 registered Democrats and Democratic leaners, with a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 5 points.

We don’t nominate candidates or elect presidents on a national basis, so why do they even waste their time doing these national polls?
It looks like 89% of democrats are idiots.
These numbers still reflect each Democrat’s personal belief that their own candidate will be the party nominee. The more bitter the battle between Obama and Clinton, the bigger the drop in Democrat poll numbers will be, once the nominee has been selected.
I still think he’s easier to beat than the witch. This is good news.

To manipulate the outcome, to get the result they want.
It looks like 89% of democrats are idiots.
::::::::
That number is low -— :-)
Newsweek looks like they are in life support mode for their hero Obama.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
“It looks like 89% of democrats are idiots.”
And the rest are voting for McQueeg! LOL!
I love what you say. The Clintoons must be going ape these days.
Where are the superdelegates on this poll?
If they had the courage of their convictions (none and none), they would have caved already and publicly come out for Obama by acclamation.
Can I ask what state that is kempo? Watching the state by state outcomes as they unfold is going to be very interesting on November 4.
I live in Minnesota and believe it or not, McCain even has a chance here.
At the moment, so they (meaning the MSM) can concentrate on giving Obama a boost and only report allegedly 'national' numbers so they don't have to report on the upcoming Pennsylvania primary where it looks as if Hillary may kick their boy's ass. I'm hoping she does so that this most entertaining of races is extended as long as possible. A race that will drain both candidates resources to the max.
IOW, 'they' are trying to influence an election. Nothing new.
Arkansas
Great news. Sort of. I hope your county is the model come November.
Good. Its time to bury queenie. I want her out of my life once and for all.
21 points? Hokay. Whatever blows your hair back, Newsweak....
