Time Tramples Iwo Jima Image to Push 'War on Global Warming'

In our nation's history, there are few images more heroic, more sacred in a civil sense, than that of the Marines raising the flag at Iwo Jima. Time has now twisted, and enlisted, that image for its "war against global warming."
Time editor Rick Stengel, making his regular Thursday appearance on Morning Joe to tout the week's cover story, naturally thought it was a wonderful idea. He also explained why Time decided to editorialize in favor of a "massive" effort to combat global warming.

Hard to believe Time didn’t get the memo from Gore -
Psst, you’re not supposed to call it global warming anymore cause we look like fools when it turns cold. It’s “Climate Change Crisis” idiots! Now fix that headline pronto.

I wonder if those idiots read the Times printed in the 70’s where it screamed about Global Cooling .... or other papers over the generations that went back and forth on it ... seemed every 20 years or so they would either be writing about global warming or global cooling. Guess we're in the Global Warming phase ....

Seriously! For those really tuned into the back and forth on this issue, this is a major blunder on the part of Time. As global temperatures have been cooling, the movement has started using “Global Climate Change” instead of Global Warming. Warming is soooo 1990’s.

For many liberals, equivalences do become silly, don’t they? Here’s they might have arrived at this cover:
1) What should we call the effort to overcome global warming?
2) Hey, I’ve got it. Evil Bush calls his war the War of Terror. Why don’t we call this the War on Global Warming?
3) Great idea! (Add lot’s more exclamation marks.) Now we need a symbolic picture that shows that it will be a hard but peaceful war.
4) How about using this one, and changing that ugly flag for a pretty tree?
5) Bingo! That’s it! Where’s my latte?

I'm just waiting for some PhotoShopped pictures of the Holocaust, with the Global Warming Bedwetters removing human victims and replacing them with trees.

Seems to me that if Time were truly interested in fighting Global Warming, that they’d immediately cease publication. Barring that, they should publish on used toilet paper.
