SAN ANGELO A Texas judge on Sunday ordered law enforcement officials to immediately confiscate all cell phones in the possession of FLDS women and children now housed in temporary quarters here. "I just called to say, hi. They are about to collect the phones, I think," one soft-spoken FLDS woman said during a telephone call to another member of the Fundamentalist LDS Church who was outside of the shelter. "I don't like what they're doing."
Several of the women inside the shelters spoke by cell phone to the Deseret News on Saturday to describe the living conditions there. Children could be heard crying in the background of each conversation. The News published an article on Sunday, quoting the women who complained there was no privacy and that their children were getting sick.
FLDS faithful outside the shelter are convinced Sunday's court order is a direct result of the women speaking to the newspaper.
"This is nothing more than retaliation of Child Protective Services to punish those who were disclosing what is really happening behind the walls of this concentration camp," said Don, an FLDS member who asked that his last name not be used. "These are my family members."

If nothing else I will agree that somebody is lying about something here.
No disrespect to NOMORELURKER meant, but that is just too funny!
Hopefully, having a good sense of humor can help us all get through this emotional, and edgy subject.
She will turn up, the main thing is that the ones in custody have not been raped for a few days.
“Judging by the tone of their posts,”
I try to go by just the words on the screen.
I have turned the ‘sound’ all the way up and yet,
I can’t hear any tone at all.
And I have yet to read a post on this or any of the several threads, where anyone said the government should not interfere with the rape of children, as long as that is what is happening.
I am hoping some convincing evidence, and specific charges, will be coming out soon, and put an end to all this in-fighting.
That other fellow is not at issue in this case. The person they were apparently after doesn't seem to even live in Texas.
If they are doing what the state is claiming, I would certainly hope they get nailed to the wall by their privates.
However, it is not an auspicious beginning to a case of this sort when the prime suspect ain't there, and may well be able to prove he ain't been there in quite a while. Sloppy police work makes folks who might otherwise have been convicted free men.
SAN ANGELO — A Texas judge on Sunday ordered law enforcement officials to immediately confiscate all cell phones in the possession of FLDS women and children now housed in temporary quarters here.Yet the media said the LEO’s took away their cell phones.
The whole concept of linear time is beyond you?
P.S.
“While adult women with very young children remain at the shelter are this time, many of the women were taken back to the compound or to a safe place of their choice.”

Your thinking does not change the law, and the law has been followed to the letter here. If you have any proof other wise state it.
The children in protective custody have nothing to do with the original warrant. So the warrant does not mean anything to their case.
“The whole concept of linear time is beyond you?”
No.
But the concept that these women were taken away from their children, and not allowed contact with anyone, and that their cell phones were immediately confiscated, is a lie.
Polygamy is an ancient practice. The practice was forbidden in Western nations since the latter days of the Roman Empire, based on Christian teaching on the matter
Note, however, St. Augustine of Hippo's points on polygamy. For example: "The only reason of its being a crime now to do this, is because custom and the laws forbid it."
There are issues with regard to the age of consent and the minimum age at which marriage is allowed.
The Church forbade marrying a child who was "still in the cradle." When the church decided to make marriage an official sacrament A.D. 1215, it set 7 years old as the limit.
During Medieval times, marriages were generally not under the age of 12 for girls, 17 for boys. Even during the Renaissance, the age remained 12 for girls, but dropped to 14 for boys. And have you ever read Le Mesnagier de Paris, which is a book of practical advice from an elderly husband to his 15-year-old wife?
Also, it should be noted that in general, historically, concubines had to be at least 12.
(I write of European history; I'm unfamiliar with other cultural views.)
For example, you said: These women and children were taken into PROTECTIVE CUSTODY.
Yet it is reported:
The children are being housed in San Angelo's historic Fort Concho and at the nearby Wells Fargo pavilion. About 140 women from the ranch are also with the children, although they are not in state custody.
Here is why they are having a hard time finding the ‘girl’.
“Some medical records listed the name of the 16-year-old girl whose call triggered the weeklong raid. But her name was identical to that of several girls in the sect.”Some medical records listed the name of the 16-year-old girl whose call triggered the weeklong raid. buuuuuummmmp !!
“Reportedly, the State Bar of Texas is recruiting Texas child custody lawyers to represent the 416 children taken into state protective custody after being removed the Fundamentalist LDS Churchs compound in Eldorado.”

That is technically correct. But the women that are staying with their children who are in protective custody, are doing so at their own choice.
So they are, by proxy, under protective custody.
If the police find that the cell phone calls are being used to manipulate the women, then I think the police have a duty to confiscate them, if it will protect the children from being returned to abuse (assuming it is true).
These women can leave, and take their cell phone with them, if they don’t like it. They just can’t stay and interfere with the invesigation.
They are not under arrest. That I have read.
Of course it is, all the more reason for the government to follow the rules, so some Judge or Justice doesn't throw the case out on the basis of an insufficient original warrant, or because a lower judge got carried away with "court orders".
“Fortunately the powers that be in TX dont turn away...TX is stuck cleaning up 50 years of others states inaction.”
The feds are apparently involved now.
Jeffs was arrested in Nevada. Colorado City and Hilsdale were established on the Utah/Arizona border to make it easy to duck across the state line.
Up until now, Utah and Arizona have done little, but Jeffs was convicted in Utah, and faces trial in Arizona. Their prophet is effectively locked up for life.
That alone should deter many from further involvement, and should encourage some to cooperate.
It will not surprise me if this takes a long time to develop, to proscute, but convictions will result.
There are branches in Colorado, South Dakota and British Columbia.
How about a RICO case, for crossing state lines to subject people to slavery, to rape children too young to give legal (competent) consent, to defraud state welfare agencies, to tamper with witnesses and evidence, etc.?
“Of course it is, all the more reason for the government to follow the rules, so some Judge or Justice doesn’t throw the case out on the basis of an insufficient original warrant, or because a lower judge got carried away with “court orders”. “
And I think they are being very careful to follow the rules.
I have read about a lot of ‘suspicion’ and ‘speculation’ that they are violating the law (they being the State, LE,CPS), but I have not read of any proof.
Unless we count the cell phone confiscation.
If you have ever had to conduct a person to person interview, and their cell phone keeps ringing... well, you might ‘confiscate’ their cell phone too.
I don’t think that people should be allowed to use their cell phone while driving, and it should be confiscated if they do (unless the conversation is driving directions).
So, for me, the thought that the government (state, local, whatever) could fail to protect children from sexual assault because they wouldn’t allow cell phone use during an investigation, seems ridiculous.
“The whole concept of linear time is beyond you? “
BTW, space and distance are linear.
Time is circular.
Think about it.
