FLDS women seek Texas governor's help
Deseret News ^ | April 13, 2008 | Nancy Perkins

SAN ANGELO — A Texas judge on Sunday ordered law enforcement officials to immediately confiscate all cell phones in the possession of FLDS women and children now housed in temporary quarters here. "I just called to say, hi. They are about to collect the phones, I think," one soft-spoken FLDS woman said during a telephone call to another member of the Fundamentalist LDS Church who was outside of the shelter. "I don't like what they're doing."

Several of the women inside the shelters spoke by cell phone to the Deseret News on Saturday to describe the living conditions there. Children could be heard crying in the background of each conversation. The News published an article on Sunday, quoting the women who complained there was no privacy and that their children were getting sick.

FLDS faithful outside the shelter are convinced Sunday's court order is a direct result of the women speaking to the newspaper.

"This is nothing more than retaliation of Child Protective Services to punish those who were disclosing what is really happening behind the walls of this concentration camp," said Don, an FLDS member who asked that his last name not be used. "These are my family members."

You have the right to remain silent. If you choose not to exercise that right you will be silenced.

We're from the government. We're here to help you.

You have the right to remain silent.

So much of a right, that we will take your cell phone. And then your rights will be even better, because you HAVE to remain silent.

I have no problem with the State of Texas going into that compound to stop abuse and explotation of those young children. I have one hell of a problem with taking away the ability for those mothers to communicate with anyone they desire to, unless those women have been charged with a crime.

Inside the very private polygamous ranch, "Monica," a member of the FLDS Yearning For
Zion community, near Eldorado,Texas, talks about how Texas officials will not allow her
to see her children
who were taken from the ranch last week with more than 400 other
children.

The women are free to leave, and they are also free to speak to the media. The cell phones were taken away to prevent the men back at the ranch from giving orders to the women about what lies to tell to investigators so they men’s and women’s lies will match. The men, especially the top leaders, are also likely to be transmitting instructions about what horrible lies the women should tell the children, like about how they’ll burn in hell for eternity if they answer interviewers’ questions honestly or reveal any of the “sacred things” (i.e. rape) that went on in the temple. There is HUGE motivation for witness tampering here.

More to this than meets the eye, I’m guessing. If these people were “rescued” why do they need silencing ?

I'm sure there are more than a few of the women who are believers and don't look kindly upon the "rescue"...

That's not to say that if there was abuse it should be ignored, but there are a lot of assumptions being made, and perhaps many of the "rescued" are being "obstructionists"--and are trying to communicate with the accused?

Apparently, we're never really more than one step away from a concentration camp.

“I have one hell of a problem with taking away the ability for those mothers to communicate with anyone they desire to, unless those women have been charged with a crime.”

We all do.
But these mothers, and children, are not allowed to communicate with anyone they desire to.

If they do, they can be sold or transferred like chattel, at the whim of Warren Jeffs and his merry band.

The government is worried that their ‘husbands’ will convince them to keep quiet, to protect the wealth, power, and ability to forcefully violate any woman or child of their choosing.

These children aren’t even sure who their biological mother is.

We might be violating the mothers right to call anyone, but if we don’t, aren’t we violating the trust of the nation by allowing children to be seduced by a cult that buys loyalty with little girls?

I think all she needs to do is to prove they are her children and then prove who the father is. No problem!

They did get their main leader so far, on this cult's practice of the child rape thing.

“Warren Jeffs, the sect’s prophet and spiritual leader at its longtime headquarters in the dusty, side-by-side towns of Hildale, Utah, and Colorado City, Ariz., was charged in 2005 and 2006 with forcing underage girls into marriages. He was convicted in September in Utah of being an accomplice to rape and is serving up to life in prison."

As a joke but seriously, there was some twerky mindset that came up with an exact replica to the period when polygamy was practiced.

The dresses make them even less human and more a fantasy.

FLDS attorney Rod Parker challenged Texas authorities to allow reporters and photographers inside the shelters.

"If conditions are as good as they say they are, allow the women to come out and tell their stories and then go back inside," Parker said. "If there is nothing to hide, allow reporters and photographers inside to take pictures."
From the letter:
"We were contacted and told our homes had been raided, our children taken away with no explanation, and because of law enforcement blockade preventing entering or leaving the ranch, we were unable to get to our homes and had no-where to go," it said. "As of Wednesday, April 9, 2008, we have been permitted to return to our empty, ransacked homes, heartsick and lonely."

The ‘government’ that you’re holding in such contempt is doing the right thing by these women and children. Or do you too approve of child brides and organized slavery via brainwashing?
