Here's the deal... Terrorists post snuff videos, sniper videos, calls for jihad and all manner of nasty stuff on the internet in order to lure more young skulls full of mush into working for or with them. A lot of these videos are hosted at YouTube, of all places. YouTube's policy is that they will only remove offensive videos if those videos are flagged by the YouTube community as offensive. That's where you and I come in... We need 100 people who will give us 10 minutes a day to simply sign in to YouTube and flag videos. You don't even have to watch them - in fact, in most cases, I'd recommend that you NOT watch them. If we flood YouTube with flagged videos, they WILL remove them. So will you help? (Please?)
Here are the steps:
#1) If you don't have a YouTube account, go sign up for one. You don't have to use it for anything but this.
#2) Click one of the links below, let the video start and then click the pause button on the player so you don't have to actually watch the propaganda.
#3) Below the video, click "Flag as inappropriate."
#4) Choose "promotes hatred or violence"
#5) Where it says "please indicate the group attacked" choose National Origin.
#6) Where it says "provide additional information....." type or copy/paste in the below statement.
Providing services to terrorists violates executive orders 12947 and 13224.
This might work for awhile but then YouTube will start “flagging” repetitive-type flags then flag the accounts that flag the offensive videos and may even delete those accounts that do too much flagging.
It’s a Catch-22. Everyone who does the above and YouTube will be caught in a vicious circle.
I didn’t use this name & set up a yahoo account just for youtube. I am not leaving any comments either at least yet although I saw enough that I wanted to. I just flagged. I figure the less they know the better lol.
Baby, I am rolling in hot over the target! Yeeeeeehah!
Check it, dude.
I’ve got a confirmed hit on two targets. Returning to base.
Done! The 4th video, and the bottom four have been removed...:-)
Understood, but this would be a very disproportionate ratio of good impact (hundreds preventing millions from being exposed to terrorist trash) versus 'helping' google with a few hundred extra hits.
Your call...
I’m in.
Count me IN, Star
Since it is possible that YouTube may begin flagging repetitive-type flags, I’m going to open a new YouTube acct for the sole purpose of this exercise. I’d hate to lose track of the videos in my favorites, and my subscriptions.
Will you be posting further links that should be flagged onto this thread or will you being a new thread each week/month?
#3 is also toast ... looks like progress since pattty’s report. Woo hoo.
I can see your point but can also allow for relying on info from a trusted source. If you view the videos in question, though, most get right to the objectionable part and you can freeze it quickly. Some even show the hatred in the opening credits and that’s enough to detect the violation. Sadly, it looks like there’s a ton of this stuff out there judging by the list of links on the right after you view one.
I know what you mean. My bro goes back next summer. It hits close to home.
WOOHOO! (Thanks!!)
They’re right — that’s why the lists are short and they rotate. :-) And like I said. I start the vids so I can flag them and then I pause them so I don’t have to watch. Ugh.
Probably true — but I can’t sit back and do nothing. Ugh!
LOL!! Thanks Mr. S!
w00t! Thanks NVA!!
I’m thinking about that — It might make sense to just post new links to this thread and ping everyone to let them know there’s a new list and which post # it’s in. Either way, I’ll let you know!!
You've deluded yourself into believing you'll accomplish anything other than generating more revenue for the America-haters at Google.
You're supporting the scum you oppose.
If that's okay with you have at it.
