Tunes For The Troops
**Artist Showcase**
Disturbed is a rock band from Chicago, Illinois. The group was formed in 1996 when musicians Dan Donegan, Steve "Fuzz" Kmak, and Mike Wengren hired singer David Draiman in Chicago, Illinois. Originally classified as a nu metal band, Disturbed is now regarded by some music critics as hard rock or heavy metal, although others now regard them as alternative metal. However, the band's genre is still being debated. When asked about die-hard metal fans not finding Disturbed heavy enough, frontman David Draiman stated:
"We probably have too much melody going on or we're not quite as turbulent or caustic. While I really love that type of music, it's not what we try to do. If we have to place things in context, we're more hard rock than heavy metal these days."
This music is provided for the entertainment of our Troops, Veterans, Allies & their families!
Enjoy the variety of musical selections that the Canteen Deejays provide throughout the thread. Please ping LaurenMarlowe with your requests for the Troops.

Well if the weather guessers are right I should be able to get the flower boxes finished up tomorrow. I need to have them done so when I start on the back yard retaining wall next weekend I have someplace to go with the extra dirt.
Ah the fun never ends here at the alfa6 compound:-)

Thanks for the info, I suspected that the picture was of fairly recent vintage as the pilot is wearing what looks like a modern crash helment.

If you enjoyed last week:
It continues this week:
Capitol Records sued Vee-Jay over the American rights to the songs on
Introducing ... The Beatles and on October 15, 1964 the masters transfered to Capitol and Vee-Jay lost the rights to distribute Beatles records.
By March, 1965, relatively few copies of
Introducing ... The Beatles remained in stores as most of the pre-October 15, 1964, inventory had been sold. Capitol filled the void in the Beatles catalog by issuing it's own collection of songs from the group's European
Please Please Me album. Of the 14 songs on the British LP, Capitol dropped "I Saw Her Standing There" which was on
Meet The Beatles!, and two Lennon/McCartney originals, "Misery" and "There's A Place".Capitol also reworked the order, leading off with the hit singles "Love Me Do" and "Twist & Shout". Because the disc contained recordings that were at least two years old, the album was titled
The Early Beatles.
As many fans already had the same songs on
Introducing ... The Beatles, the album offered little, if anything new other than the cover picture of the group previously unavailable in America. By Beatles standards (which had so far meant 25 weeks in 1964 with number one albums), the album was not initially a big seller, but it still peaked respectfully at number 43 on the Billboard Top LPs chart.

Didn't commune with the dirt today - I was doing taxes - tomorrow looks good, though. Hope your folks get better soon - prayers and thoughts with them.

When they found [her]in a old hanger in very bad shape & was slated to be scraped. it took a bunch of guys who helped design & build her. They had to take her all the way down and rebuild it from there including the engines as well. It took over 10 years to rebuild & re certify it for flight. But they did not deviate from Jack Northrup's idea..
