Yeah, I might want to see more polling on this, but your conclusion is what these data seem to say.

But you would need 67 votes in the Senate to override a veto. Not going to happen at this time.

But lately here is my nightmare scenario. Say McCain wins but the Dems add a few seats in the House and win, as expected, 6 to 7 Senate seats. That puts them in the upper 50s and in many cases they will be able to peel off a couple of weak-kneed Pubbies to get to 60. So the House passes a big tax increase, the Senate goes along and McCain vetos. But the veto is easily overriden. Two thirds of each house, I don't think so. That also assumes McRINO has no coattails.
Can Obama change U.S. political map?

Personally, I think we are picking up at least a handful of seats in the House. We’ll stand to lose a few in the Senate, maybe two to four.

WNBC/Marist Poll indicates true blue Democrat New York is in play; Dang!
To: Norman Bates
I’ll believe the Marist Poll if Survey USA and Rasmussen show similiar findings.

Fair enough. But keep in mind Marist is a NY-based polling outfit.

This is something if McCain is starting to show up beating a dimocrat in a blue state.

That’s the only thing I wouldn’t worry about. We both know that only the EC counts, and ultimately really only FL, OH, MO, NM, IA, and perhaps WI, KY, and AK count. As long as McCain is up there, I could care less what happens in the generic national poll.

“Two thirds of each house, I don’t think so. That also assumes McRINO has no coattails.”
yesterday i read that just having McCain at the head of the ticket gives an extra 2 or 3 Senate seats for the Rs and 5 - 10 house seats that otherwise would not.

“Who besides Rudy is urban-based?”
Rob Portman, Christopher Cox, and Eric Cantor, for starters.
