No he is not being hard on McCain. The fact is McCain has real baggage and it is better that McCain learns how to answer it properly now than when the dems pick their caididate and the MSM targets both barrels onto McCain.

You think the stuff Rush is bringing up is too tough? Wait until the MSM goes full bore on his ass. McCain needs to start developing ways to deal with genuine issues that WILL be brought up by people who will give absolutely no quarter.

Rush is one of the reasons we have McCain. He spent more than a year obsessing on the Dems and, particularly, Hillary Clinton. I got so fed up hearing about Dems, hearing interviews with Dems, and hearing Dem callers that I finally quit listening to him.

Rush could have given a good forum to different conservative candidates - but he didn’t. McCain is an awful candidate, and the fact that Rush is now just shrugging and telling us to pick between three awful candidates really destroys whatever respect I had for him.

The only mistake RUSH made was not reminding the rest of the US of the as “Moderate” Arnold Sawrtzennegger as govenator of Calif and the boondoggle it caused conservatives to suffer...

Good arguments.

“I am befuddled. The Republican Party has three recent examples of how to win huge landslides and change the direction of this country: two landslides in ‘80 and ‘84 and taking over the House in 1994, and the party has abandoned it for whatever reason, and now we’re seeking to expand our party by becoming like liberals and Democrats.”

...And, uh, if I were advising McCain right now, I would say, uh, he's slightly overreacting to his conservative base. I -- I don't think he needs to do that so much. I think they don't have any choice right now....

...Gosh, see what this guy is saying?...Doesn't that feel like a kick in the nu** to you?...It does feel that way to me... And it hurts... It really annoys me when they take me for a brainless, docile, gullible piece of meat :)

Every now and then, Rush allows a real dwebe to relegate his show to irrelevance.

After the debacle of 2006 Rush plainly said that he wasn’t going to carry water for these guys anymore ,if they’re conservative he would support them but Rush like many of us here isn’t going to march in lock step just because there is an “R” after the name.I agree with Rush, McCocaine is running to the left to get the dem vote and he just assumes he will get the conservatives because after all where they gonna go?He pulls the party to the left and the drive bys all gasp at how the Republicans have really matured under McCocaine’s leadership and marvel at what a great statesman he is since he won’t put any controversial nominees to the federal bench .Lindsey Graham or Arlen Specter for the Supreme Court anyone?

If Rush had started praising McCain and being a "team player" I would have lost all respect for him.

I keep pondering what is worse--an anti-conservative Dem president who has to deal with Republicans, or an anti-conservative RINO who'll sell out Republicans to make deals with Democrats to promote his own image. It keeps coming up worse with the RiNO, in my mind.

No. Rush is remaining true to his principles and I think what he says is fair. Also, he doesn’t stay on one topic for the whole show.

There is another talk show host who is a broken record as far as bashing McCain is concerned. It has gotten so monotonous that I just turn him off. But Rush isn’t like that.

If McStain loses in November, it's McStain’s fault. Not Rush's,and certainly not me, after I throw my vote at a turd party after having been given no other logical choice.

~~~"Get over it? You're asking me to get over my principles! You're asking me to get over what I think is best for this country. You're asking me to get over what I think needs to be done, and that is liberals need to be defeated and not joined and not appeased."~~~
Questions for Mr. Limbaugh:
1). How does supporting the Clintons in Operation Chaos show conservative principles?
2). You say that if you were to publically support McCain, independents and moderate democrats would run off the McCain reservation. However, your public support of the Clintons seems to have increased her chances of winning the nomination, has given them a new surge in the polls, and the Clintons seem to enjoy your help. How does your support of McCain cause him to lose voters, while your support of the Clintons causes them to gain?
3). Since there are 3 socialists running for the office of the president, how do we defeat them? Will you run for the Office of the President? Certainly that would cause quite a fabulously sensational, stunning and spectacular Operation Chaos. What a fantastic journey to that Bright Shining City on the Hill your campaign would be to America and the world.
This is a story from ThePolitico.com, and it's from March 27th, "GOP looks to McCain Democrats."
"GOP looks to Reagan McCain Democrats." My God!!! If the GOP has to depend on Reagan McCain Democrats the end is near. Why not cut out the middle man and vote straight rat party? This is unprecedented, and I will have no part of a party who accepts the votes of men like Zell Miller, Joe Lieberman, or average Americans that don't subscribe to 100% of the GOP plateform.
Go Pat Ron Go!
