I guess the rumors we’ve heard about Bush in the Washington Post might have some truth to them... wow.

Im getting the impression that Ginsburg is giving Dellinger every opportunity to convince her but he hasnt done it yet. Opinion? I agree. The justices seem to be giving him extraordinary leeway to explain his argument. Of course this is the first live hearing I have paid attention to so that is JMO.

I know the petitioner’s or the respondent’s attorneys must allow themselves to be interrupted when a Justice speaks, but it’s still like “watching” a cat playing with a mouse.

I’m not able to watch now. Is this the first day of what is expected to be many days of oral arguments?

Clement says that foremost in the Framers mind was a concern that the Militia would remain a viable option to the standing army. BS! If you go back and read the Framers' writings on the issue, it's clear that they intended that the PEOPLE should have the individual right to keep and bear arms, both for personal defense and for keeping the federal government in line, through the threat of armed revolt.

Yup, all of the justices have these arguments on paper already. Typically, they only do an hour of oral arguments to ask pointed questions about what they’ve read. Today was a bit longer...

I heard some boob on C-Span this morning claim that the "Southern signers insisted on militas having arms because of the threat from slave revolts..."

Question for the legal eagles:
If the gun control advocates don’t like the way this is going...if by the overall tone they conclude the decision would not be in their favor, and they don’t want a decision supporting individual rkba...can they withdraw?
