NEW YORK (CBS) ― Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton hinted at the possibility of a democratic "dream ticket" with Sen. Barack Obama.
Speaking on the Early Show on CBS, Clinton said "that may be where this is headed, but we have to decide who is on the top of the ticket."
Clinton said the race between her and Obama remains "incredibly close," with just "smidgens of difference" between them.
Clinton's remarks after her campaign won two big states yesterday: Ohio and Texas. She also won Rhode Island. The wins enabled her campaign to break Obama's 12-state winning streak and pick up some momentum of its own.
Speaking later on the Early Show, Obama congratulated Clinton on her victories while maintaining he would be able to wrap up the democratic nomination.
"We still have close to an insurmountable lead in delegates," Obama said. Obama said his campaign had won nearly twice as Clinton as well as a greater share of the popular vote.
Rodham/Hussein 2008 (Sounds like the late dictator of Iraq, doesn’t it?)
Castro predicted a Hillary/Obama ticket would win....
Hitlery/Osama 2008: Because America isn’t going to hell fast enough!
I agree with you. The media and libs will slobber all over this “progressive” ticket. One will be a misogynist and racist if one votes for the boring, white male. With those two in office, the country is going to take a tremendous swing to the left like nothing we have ever seen before. Ultimately, that will be a swing downhill.
OK, I didn’t read all the comments, but if Hillary doesn’t get the top, she won’t take 2nd place. I don’t see her wanting to be VP. Its all about Hillary, she is part of the “me” generation, in her case the key is “ME”.
There were many cases of Arkancide, such as Vince Foster and the guy who had his heart medicine withheld at the federal prison at Carswell Joint Service Base in Fort Worth. Hitlary and her co-president presided over the immolation of more than eighty men, women and children at the Branch Davidian complex just outside of Waco, TX, in 1993, so she is no stranger to killing.
If I were B Hussein Obama, I would think twice about having Hitlery as my VP.
Recent history -- Reagan did that for Bush.
Back in history...
In 1796 Adams won against Jefferson and Jefferson became VP.
In 1800 Jefferson won against Burr and Burr became VP.
You do realize that way back when, the person who finished 2nd in the electoral college become VP, right? So your point is moot with those 2.
During the presidential campaign of 1796 Adams was the presidential candidate of the Federalist Party and Thomas Pinckney, the Governor of South Carolina, his running mate. The federalists wanted Adams as their presidential candidate to crush Thomas Jefferson's bid. Most federalists would have preferred Hamilton to be a candidate. Although Hamilton and his followers supported Adams, they also held a grudge against him. They did consider him to be the lesser of the two evils. However, they thought Adams lacked the seriousness and popularity that had caused Washington to be successful, and also feared that Adams was too vain, opinionated, unpredictable, and stubborn to follow their directions. Adams' opponents were former Secretary of State Thomas Jefferson of Virginia, who was joined by Senator Aaron Burr of New York on the Democratic-Republican ticket.
As was customary, Adams stayed in his home town of Quincy rather than actively campaign for the Presidency. He wanted to stay out of what he called the silly and wicked game. His party, however, campaigned for him, while the Republicans campaigned for Jefferson.
It was expected that Adams would dominate the votes in New England, while Jefferson was expected to win in the Southern states. In the end, Adams won the election by a narrow margin of 71 electoral votes to 68 for Jefferson (who became the vice president).
Me too. I’ve said that from the first. I think we’ll end up with a Hillary/Obama ticket and we’re scr*wed- for sure.
You don’t think one of O-bomb-a’s hate group supporters would take out Hillary in a heartbeat?
When is the last time McCain made any sort of principled conservative argument?
I have been saying this for months - these two are stuck with each other and will be the dem ticket. Only question is who is on top.
Ditto
Any freepers that voted for her should just go jump off a bridge.
I remember a lady calling Mark Levin's talk show a while back and she had a great slogan for the presidential campaign.
Anyway, having both Obama and Clinton and Clinton on the ticket...nah, not a good idea for the Obama part of the ticket. She'd never allow herself to have anything less than the presidency since she feels she is entitled to be annoited to it and all this bickering, debating, delegate counting, supermandelegate squabbling, voting, campaigning stuff is such a boring nuisance.
She'd never have Obama, and I don't think Obama would have her. No way. I wouldn't either, have her.
Or Bill's, no investigation ever fed a small starving child.
Hillary is no shrinking violet virgin when it comes to scandals.
She's got 35 years of experience dodging, blaming, and covering-up the Clinton family skeltons, along with the help of a few 1000 FBI Files, Private Investigators, IRS Audits, and a few well placed rumors.
Obama really should not allow himself to be on the defensive when Hillary's nazi tactics are thrown at him along with the "kitchen-sink". He would do well to examine and review Ronald Reagan's charismatic responses to the lies and innuendos.
The Clintons are smash-mouth politicians. Down and dirty street thugs. They want to deprive Obama of his manly dignity and force him into a mud slinging fight. The Clintons do not suffer or are hampered by any misgivings, or shame, or remorse at their classless tactics.
What ever it takes to reach their goal, even breaking and exploiting rules, laws, contracts, agreements, nothing and no one will be allowed to stand in their way. It's all for them and nothing for anyone else.
Why any rational human being is supporting these two swindling and corrupt retread Clintons for another chance at ruining America is beyond me. While Clinton screwed we all got screwed.
How very Democratic of Hillary.
Basically steal the nomination from a black man who wins the popular vote, then give him a job where she gets to lord over him.
And the beat goes on...
SHE will do it, but will HE?
Nice prediction though, the writing on the wall became clear once the invisible ink was treated last night. I think Klintoon/Osama is the ONLY way they can win in November.
I do not see that happening.
If it does happen, regardless of who is on top, such a ticket might win the popular vote by a large number (easily larger than in 2000), with CA, Illinois, and NY States going hog wild (tofu wild) over the two, but lose anyway.
I would hate to face that ticket though, however structured, given the weirdness of how this election’s going.
As a contributor observed , never thought I’d see a hitler and a hussein in the WH. Ghastly beyond belief.
I guess the Republic would survive, but only if all checks and balances are firing on all cylinders simultaneously for four years.
My guess is, the dems will lose more votes by snubbing Obama than gain votes by nominating Her Lowness. In other words, elderly and middle aged low class poorly educated white females and feminist and bitter single women are more likely to go back into the dem fold than dissed Obama’s supporters, who just won’t vote. Seems to me Obama will watch HRC lose and then run in 2012 against one term McCain’s VP yet to be chosen. (I suggest Senator Isackson from GA, But that’s two senators so maybe not. Fla gov. more likely.) And, the dems cannot win without Obama’s voting block. The price of popcorn would drop suddenly if this
drama closed or if we forgot that stupid ethanol idea.
Hello President McCain, sir.
Lord have mercy on us if this is true.
