Rush Wins?

K-Lo, writing here from Austin, Texas.

Not sure why the networks haven’t picked up on this, but there is definitely a sizable portion of the vote in Texas tonight comprised of Republican voters looking to “game” the Democratic primary. I spoke with numerous friends today, who claim to be Republican, who said they voted for Sen Clinton with the thought that it will prolong the Dem in-fighting and therefore benefit Republicans. I won’t debate the merits of their argument here, but the phenomenon (Republicans voting for Sen Clinton to gain the system) is real and I think material to the results. I’m surprised I haven’t seen anyone reporting it and just how large the impact might be. I’m sure it is contributing to the number of voters deciding in the final three days to support Sen. Clinton. Would be curious to hear your contributors comment on this dynamic. The VRWC conspires to save the Clinton campaign?

“Haven’t you paid attention to the exit polling data? In EVERY race, the second largest group that is bailing out on Clinton is the white male vote (second only to the blacks), who will overwhelmingly vote Republican only to deny Clinton the power she so desires.”

Polling data 8 months before the election is completely worthless.

“Rush’s little scheme (which Laura signed on to) was a defeat for grass-roots candidates and those working so hard to get them elected. I doubt I’ll ever look at Rush and Laura the same again.”

Limbaugh has become the John McCain of talk radio.

Limbaugh is possibly (Note the previous word) giving a rallying cry for democrats to become united on.

Rush should have been more subtle about trying to “entice” and prolong the dem primary. The guy is rolling in money and it’s good for exposure but is it really good for the Country?

“”Rush is an a-hole. He doesn’t know the delegate math. I think he has served his usefulness and now time to take a bow. OUT. He is making me sick.””

I agree!!! Rush is a lot like the Clintons...its all about him. Whenever he goes out on a speaking engagegment he replays his speech for three hours on his next show. He is absessed with listening to his own voice and reci=gnizing his own achievments. What a jerk!!!

If anyone has a minute, turn on the Obamamercial on Fox all morning with the Ohio college students. They are all swooning for their boy Obama. We do not want to run against this empty, yet untouchable, suit.

Another point they were making last night was that the young new voters this year are overwhelming supporting Obama...and they are NOT transferrable to Hillary.

Obviously, you are not a chess player.

Chess strategy doesn't work in contact sports, and to quote Stephen Harper, "politics is the bloodiest of sports". (And considering what he went thru with the Liberals, he should know.)

Forget the long-term strategy, she's back and stronger. It's time to be nervous again.

Polling data 8 months before the election is completely worthless.

Polling data is considered worthless by the person who doesn't like the results, and taken as gospel by the person who does.

I agree. Vote for the candidate you want to vote for in November. Do not vote to mess up the other primary

“Rush’s juvenile strategy may have re-envigorated the Clinton presidency. If Hillary is elected in November than we can all blame Rush and his huge ego.”

In all these years, to encourage the Dittoheads to vote for The Witch was the stupidest thing I’ve heard Rush say.

What a sad day. We HAD a chance to put the stake through the Vampire’s heart, but decided to keep it around in case it decided it wanted to fight with the Werewolf. Dumb. Dumb. DUMB.

NEVER underestimate the political sleaze of the power-mad Clintons. NEVER. Now that the door’s open again, the Witch will find a way back into power, no matter WHAT the cost and, aided by a suddenly re-adoring media, CRUSH McCain.

With The Witch still alive (politically speaking, of course), there’s also the chance she’ll pick Obama as her running mate. I personally think we’re going to get crushed in November no matter what, since our candidate isn’t worth SPIT, but with Hilly and Obama on the ticket, we’d just as well stay home now.

But... yeah... I agree.... Rush, your plan SUCKED, and resulted in giving the Clintons another life. If they pull this out, I, too, will never forgive you for it.

Have you ever listened to Rush?

Rush started nationally in 1988.

Every time there was a party switch in the White House, the know nothings come out of the woodwork to pronounce the demise of Rush and his show.

His audiance is NOT dependent on who is in the White House!
Do you really think he’d run out of things to say if McCain won?

McCain should be on his knees with tears streaming down his face thanking Rush in person for the gift he just produced for him. Of course he won’t, but he should.

Rush put himself in a lose-lose situation. If Hillary won yesterday and regained momentum he'd get heat for encouraging cross-over votes for her.

If it's true that in Texas more Republicans voted for Barack, then he gets the pike for not being able to influence the conservative troops to vote for the Hildebeest.

Rush's problem from early on is that on his show he made the primary campaign too much about himself. For instance, scarcely a day went by that he didn't play clips from the day or night before where his name was taken in vain by some pundit or other. Then he'd go into a couple of segments-rants about these affronts. The more he did this, the more of a lightning rod he became.

He trashed McCain so much that, although he's toned it down now that McC is the nominee-presumptive, I wonder how he's going to get out of that box especially when the most dangerous man or woman in America will be McCain's opponent for seizing the most powerful office in the world.

Rush promulgated some bad political strategery this past month, in my opinion. He never established a clear, focused line of thought.

However, I remain his numero uno fan having listened to him almost daily for 18 years. He's been my mentor and guru, my beacon in times of despair, tumult and chaos. I just happen to disagree with his jumbled (and sometimes very confusing) take on this primary cycle.

I've seen a lot of posts here the past few days that charge Rush is saying what he's saying just for the sake of ratings and income.

This is so ridiculous and moronic on its face that it's scarcely worth replying to. So I won't take the time or make the effort.

Leni

Why? This is only the primaries, when the rubber meets the road I think most people would have a hard time voting for Ms. Rodham-Clinton,as well as Obama. I have friends who consider themselves dems and let’s just say Rush is right about the hypocracy on the left. They would never vote for a n-word or a woman for POTUS. It’s a long time until November, a lot can happen.

He knows the absolute best thing that could happen for his ratings would be for Hillary to win the General election.

No he was actually trying to help lord McCain where lord McCain won't help himself..... because since there will be no 'negative' campaigning against Obama, Rush knew that with Hillary still in the race she would do what lord McCain will not do.

You’re quite welcome. I like Rush’s tactic. There will be a lot of good YouTubes as a result for the general campaign.
