Texas Republicans will Cancel Each Other
02-03-08 | Shenandoah

I've read a lot of posts on this forum dealing with Texas Republicans crossing over and voting in the Rat primaries. There seems to be two evenly divided camps here; those who want Hillary to win, and those who want Obama to win. If this is the case, then all of those votes will simply cancel each other out.

Most Conservatives such as Rush Limbaugh are now view this race between a White Liberal Woman, White Liberal Man and Black Muslim.

I listen to him a lot, and while he certainly presents it as a White Liberal Woman vs a Black guy, he stays far away from the muslim connection.

Do you have any evidence to back that up?

"I voted in the early voting primary last week, and voted for Hunter."

Best way to send a clear message, IMO. Let some McCain apologist try to spin that.

There are 250,000 crossovers in Texas. 66% of them have already voted. This Hillary stategy is absurd. I know 20 republicans that voted for Obama and 2 that voted for hillary. Why do you want to load Hillary in the chamber. McCain is smoking toast in the toaster. Do want this country in the hands of the wicked witch? Or the young man from Illinois who is the greatest inspiration to America since Ronald Reagan? Get REAL!!!

He did file on his website a catalogue of anti-semetic charges against Obama, right after he cooked up this scheme to help Hillary. Rush himself may have not said Muslim, but his fans do post frequently and are convinced he is a Muslim.

So no Rush has not said that BO is Muslim, but based on posters here, I am sure a Poll would reveal majority belives Obama is Muslim.

Paint me a pretty picture!

I could, but Rove asked me to keep it low for a while. :o)

Notice that nothing new has come from the GOP about Hillary or Obama. The oposition research has been going on for years and I fail to believe that there is any reason to bring it out while the attack each other. Obama is oxygen, Hillary is fuel and the only thing missing is heat.

Da' heat is coming.

I haven't seen mentioned the impact less Republican Primary voters will have in two years when it's time to select delegates to conventions. I guess most freepers (and Republicans) don't really care, but the number of delegates to Republican conventions in '10 will be based on how many voted in the Republican Primary in '08. It's the delegates who create the platform of the party.

I've been so mad, I wasn't going to go, but I think I will so I can help raise H*LL about getting rid of the RINO's in office. It's ridiculous to have a Party if candidates who want to call themselves Republican and get the support of the Party refuse to be subject to the very platform of that party!

>> We considered voting in the dim primary, but they stamp your voters card, and my husband found out that you are then considered a dim for at least one year. And if you ever want to run for any public office, that is on your record.

You bring up an interesting point.

For those interested, here is the official scoop, straight from the Texas Secretary of State website:

http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/voter/primary.shtml

You won’t be a “democrat” for a whole year, only until the end of THIS year. That means that you wouldn’t be able to vote in the McCain Huckabee runoff! (as if.)

My understanding is that you are correct on one point: the fact that you at one time voted in a dem primary might always be laying around in some public record somewhere, ready to haunt you if/when you run for public office. On the other hand, if you guess right and help terminate Hillary, you could always explain that was the REASON you voted Dem. It’ll be a legend by then, and whenever you mention that YOU helped, Republican voters will buy you a beer.

Personally, I’m not too worried about this issue. As far as the stamp on the voter card, heck, I’m going to frame it and hang it on my wall: “Voted in the 2008 Dem primary to help eliminate evil and ensure a brighter future ‘for the children’”.

Welcome to Free Republic. I understand you are an Obama supporter.

The truth is Obama or Hillary would do terrible damage to our country and although I am not pleased with McCain I will vote for him in November.

>> Vote for Hillary ... Four More Months!

???

FRiend, the only way to ENSURE it’s going to go four more months is to vote Obama. Even if he wins every single contest between now and the convention, he doesn’t have enough for the nomination.

On the other hand, if you and others cross over and vote for Hillary, and she gets billed as the Comeback Kid, it’s conceivable they could pressure Obama to cave, become her VP, and all hell will break loose come November.

I’m telling you...

if you want convention DRAMA,
you better vote Obama!

his own website
http://www.barackobama.com/2007/03/06/obama_man_of_the_world.php

‘’I was a little Jakarta street kid,’’ he said in a wide-ranging interview in his office (excerpts are on my blog, www.nytimes.com/ontheground). He once got in trouble for making faces during Koran study classes in his
elementary school, but a president is less likely to stereotype Muslims as fanatics — and more likely to be aware of their nationalism — if he once studied the Koran with them.

Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent. In a remark that seemed delightfully uncalculated (it’ll give Alabama voters heart attacks), Mr. Obama described the call to prayer as ‘’one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.’’

Then blame his posters, but that was an unfair, and unfounded, attack on Rush.

Based on what you said, if anyone should be accused of supporting the muslim accusations against Obama it would be Jim Robinson.

And Lord knows, I don’t believe that to be true.

Do you?

No, they won’t. Most of them by far are voting for Obama. The Clinton campaign needs to be stopped first.

I’d rather have a sister in a wh__ehouse than vote for a Dim. I cannot even stomach voting for McCain much less Hillary or Hussein.

I will cast my original intended vote tomorrow.
