I was listening to a local talk show (Columbus Ohio), and the guy was praising RINO McCain and said he'd like to see a McCain/Lieberman ticket.

I ended up screaming "They're BOTH democRATs, you A$$HOLE!

I don't listen to that idiot anymore.

Not voting or protesting your vote is not going to change who the nominee is nor is it going to ‘teach’ the republican party a lesson.

It teaches them a costly lesson, but a lesson nonetheless. The lesson learned if McCain wins is even more costly: Liberal Republicans win. If you think this round of primaries was bad, wait until the next one if McCain wins.

No? I think it might just teach the GOP a lesson.

Others criticize McCain for his sponsorship of campaign finance reform...

My idea of campaign finance reform... is to contribute NOT to the RNC this election.

“I wouldn’t vote for him if I was being threatened by a gun.”

Sounds like what the Dems said about Kerry in 04...we saw how good that worked for them

and dont let anyone bully you, call you a rino IF you decide to vote for McCain. The truth is many prominent conservatives ARE voting for McCain.
McCain is the right man for the times. Strong on cutting spending and strong on national defense.

I’ll hold my nose and vote for the GOP candidate

That is what the GOP leadership is betting on, and that is why you get McCain. McCain, Obama and Clinton all support the same policies that the GOP leadership supports -- status quo: open borders, amnesty for illegals, assaults on the First Amendment, etc.

The GOP leadership has no incentive to change, because they figure the conservatives will vote for their candidate, regardless of whom he is. After all, where else are the conservatives going to go? Fishing?

You are probably right. I have watched McCain offer conservatives nothing these last few weeks. I think he truly believes he can get elected without conservative vote. This is a dream of his-marginalize the hated conservatives. I don’t think it will work in the end...he will lose.

McCain 62.1%

Not McCain 37.9%. If one in four of those FReepers represents the folks who normally vote Republican, McCain goes down in a landslide.

It doesn’t cost the party...it costs US!! 8 years of a McCain administration is 100 times better than 8 years of a Hil/Obama admin

“I am completely disgusted with the Republican party”

Voters selected McCain, not the Republican party.

The RNC (we have one) is singing the money blues

So the illegals aren't big contributors, who knew?

I've already sent the RNC a few Bush Pesos in the Nada denomination. I didn't think they wanted any more, but if it will help I'll be glad to send more.

"They are chaining McCain to these issues (after their first pick---RINO Giuliani---tanked like a deadweight down a 300 ft cistern)."

I had to read that a second and third time. I thought you said "after their first prick..." which would also have been correct.

That kind of apathy is exactly what is going to lead to a democratic victory in Nov.

Amen, he may not be the best we'd hope for, but darn it considering the alternatives and especially in this day and age I for one can't imagine either of the two Dems running this country. Too much at stake. If our country isn't safe and strong, the rest is moot isn't it?

McCain was selected long before my state got to vote. The primary system gave us McCain-it should be reformed asap.

Wanna bet they don't learn anything when RINO McAmnesty loses?

They'll have 4 years to think about what running a RINO did for them.

I'll bet we see a REAL conservative in 2012.

he'd like to see a McCain/Lieberman ticket.

I trust Lieberman more than McCain; he's more consistent.

McCain jumps all over the place---like a loose cannon!
