End of an era. He was a giant in his day.

I think the idea of McCain being President sent him over the edge. RIP.

R.I.P., Bill. My condolences to his family and friends.

Not my favorite commentator (stylistically speaking), though a man on the right side of things (no pun intended) who had a tremendous impact on this nation. He may have been largely responsible for the acceptability of Reagan, and he certainly swayed a lot of people, and this nation therefore owes him a great debt of gratitude.

Wow, another conservative giant has left us. I didn’t agree with everything Bill Buckley said, but watching and listening to him flex the muscles of his intellect was a sight to behold.

I watched Buckley dismantle George McGovern at a public debate at the University of Florida back around 1990 or so, and he was dazzling. Even shook hands with McG at the end, I thought “nice to show mercy to those you have just vanquished”, lol

As brilliant as Rush Limbaugh is, I think that Buckley would have easily bested him if they had ever debated.

Rest In Peace Sir!

Every one of us who has ever written a column is in awe of what he accomplished.

What a giant. I should be able to come up with something erudite in tribute to him, but I’m at a loss for words.

Rest in peace, sir.

This is too bad. He was a real conservative. Not a RINO like certain people we have in office.

The father of what used to be known as conservatism, gone.

R.I.P.

A towering figure in our time and he will rank up there in the last 100 years as one of the greatest influencers of men and our times.

There was no more valiant warrior in the cause of freedom and Cold Warrior than WFB.

Truly, a legend has passed. Pick up the compilation of his show, Firing Line and you get a snapshot of his intellect and the wreckage he left behind of those on the Left who dared to face him mano a mano.

What a credit he has been to America.

God bless and keep William F Buckley Jr. He nobly heralded the American conservative movement and thereby edified our country and thereby all of Western civilization. His work and influence endure and are a credit to all that is good in the world.

Long ago, having been invited to a restaurant by the parents of my boyfriend, I had a drink at the bar with WFB's very pleasant brother James Buckley, who would later be senator from New York. Mr. Buckley offered me a hot stock tip, which being not too long out of school, I believed I wasn't able to afford. Too bad I didn't even look into it.

It was my closest brush with William F. Buckley, other than being a fan of his writing and speaking all these years. (And Kevin Bacon wasn't even old enough for high school at the time.)

The end of an era....and the beginning of the END. It was merciful that he died before having to witness the travesty of the upcoming election.

I have an eBay store and sell a lot of books there.

When I came home tonight, I find my book has OVER 9,000
hits on the the hit counter and that it SOLD today, too.

There is the photo of it from the listing.
