Try using the John at work with no power. actually our lights in there were out about a month ago, to be honest, I do not need lights on to go.

Thanks Fawn. I just called my wife in West Boca and she said they had power where she was, too. Not sure where it's actually out there. I'm good in the middle of Fort Lauderdale.

After seeing the headline, I spoke with a friend and asked if everyone in Florida was now black and voting for Obama. She thought that was hilarious. LOL

I’ve got a buddy who took a late lunch and is driving around right now. He said the street lights were out in Melbourne and over beachside too. The rest I just gleaned out of the FL Today.

Strange. No problems at the inner city high school where I teach. But the VA Hospital was knocked out and it's only two miles away. I called to get the results of some labs I had done yesterday and didn't understand what the nurse was talking about. when she remarked that they JUST got the lights on a few moments before. I'm in a new school building. Literally open for just a couple of weeks. Therefore the tv cable is not yet online. Otherwise I would have known about this sooner. In my old classroom (now demolished) next door, I always had FOX news on. Now I feel just so out of the loop!

Local cable station saying it’s NOT weather related- Homeland Security doesn’t think it’s terrorism...
Weird though how sporadic it is throughout the state..

2 of the nuclear power plants went offline- this created a wave effect- trip offline- each separate area is working on it’s own now.

That’s where my sis lives. She works on Sanibel for the fire department and her son goes to school on the island also.
