Barack Obamas campaign is expressing outrage at a new photo attributed to Clinton campaign sources that depicts the Democratic presidential candidate dressed in Somali garb.
The picture, which appeared at the top of Mondays Drudge Report, says Clinton staffers circulated the 2006 photo over the weekend. It shows the Illinois senator fitted as a Somali elder, during his visit to northeastern Kenya that was part of a five-country tour of Africa.
On the very day that Senator Clinton is giving a speech about restoring respect for America in the world, her campaign has engaged in the most shameful, offensive fear-mongering weve seen from either party in this election, Obama campaign manager David Plouffe said.
This is part of a disturbing pattern that led her county chairs to resign in Iowa, her campaign chairman to resign in New Hampshire, and its exactly the kind of divisive politics that turns away Americans of all parties and diminishes respect for America in the world, Plouffe continued.
According to Drudge, the unnamed Clinton campaign staffer said: Wouldnt we be seeing this on the cover of every magazine if it were HRC, short-hand for the candidate, Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Shown the photo by reporters, Bill Clintons press secretary said the candidates spouse will not have any reaction.

I think the point of the outrage is probably due to the ‘comments’ that go with the circulation of the photo...
A ‘see, he really is a Muslim’ comment.
As opposed to telling the truth that it was a dress up.
Bill and Hillary were notorious for their dress-ups when they went overseas.
Didn’t even Bush get dressed up in Chinese and Mongolian attire?
Yet they were not also being subject to malicious rumors about the meaning of their dress up event.
That is the reason for the anger, not that the photo itself, but the purpose these evil people are putting the photo to use for.
LMAO those are great!
bttt
We will all be wearing tablecloths soon! Pass the falafel Achmed my camel just ate mine.
Mostly because people like that are her base.
That deserves to be followed by a LOL! even though it's true...
I thought that was a picture of Haji.
After watching her thespian doppelganger's perfomance, Hamlet's mom realizes that she was way too easy, and remarks "The lady protests too much, methinks."
Thus, the quote is actually an indictment of the speaker, not (as it is usually used) of the one about whom it is spoken.
Gee what is he so ashamed of? Maybe he was just getting ready to out for Trick or Treat?
Today Nader got into the race. And while he has little chance of winning..what could the odds be that with PIAPS and Obama and the constant bickering that even the democRATS get so sick of this they vote for Nader?
Your choice!
Your view is well said and shared by many. What is so worrisome is how many Americans are being duped by this man. Voting for him because he promises change and unity without saying exactly what he plans to change and how he plans to do it..these lemmings just accept it. And we, who are hollering about this, will look at one another in stunned disbelief when these idiots face the shock of what will come and ask why no one told them about this! God help us.
You have a good head on you becky!!!
This guy will be a snap to beat. Hussein, or Hitlery, who cares?
I hope McCain’s folks are reading some of the thoughts posted on these threads. Maybe his campaign will bring up these issues for consideration.
Thanks.
Interesting, I ran into an old friend at the grocery story yesterday; a die-hard dem, peace corps in her youth, told me the exact same thing. She said she wouldn’t vote for Hillary after Bill and would NEVER vote for Barack and then told me should would have to vote for “McClain”! I snickered under my breath and didn’t want to correct her, but it was astonishing to me that she would actually vote for a republican.
I think this is going to more common than not. Is the bubble bursting on the mesiah?
PS: I think Hillary’s new tack is the best yet; I loved the sarcastic speech on the obamasiah.
