Barack Obama’s campaign is expressing outrage at a new photo attributed to Clinton campaign sources that depicts the Democratic presidential candidate dressed in Somali garb.
The picture, which appeared at the top of Monday’s Drudge Report, says Clinton staffers circulated the 2006 photo over the weekend. It shows the Illinois senator fitted as a Somali elder, during his visit to northeastern Kenya that was part of a five-country tour of Africa.
“On the very day that Senator Clinton is giving a speech about restoring respect for America in the world, her campaign has engaged in the most shameful, offensive fear-mongering we’ve seen from either party in this election,” Obama campaign manager David Plouffe said.
“This is part of a disturbing pattern that led her county chairs to resign in Iowa, her campaign chairman to resign in New Hampshire, and it’s exactly the kind of divisive politics that turns away Americans of all parties and diminishes respect for America in the world,” Plouffe continued.
According to Drudge, the unnamed Clinton campaign staffer said: “Wouldn’t we be seeing this on the cover of every magazine if it were HRC,” short-hand for the candidate, Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Shown the photo by reporters, Bill Clinton’s press secretary said the candidate’s spouse will not have any reaction.

If I were Obama I would be outraged too. After all He has been very careful about being called a Muslim by saying he attended a Christian school for two years. Now he shows up with a turban on his head. Hardly Christian attire.
I attended two catholic schools for 6 years and I am still not a catholic.

There is an unsettling and highly instructive tendency on the part of Leftists to eagerly adopt the clothing and garb of the enemy, as evidenced by several authentic photos posted to this thread.

His loyalty to our country is anything but assured. It’s only , “Slimy,” if it’s not true.
That’s exactly the point. The Clinton camp wants to reinforce all the fears about Obama’s Muslim background. Ironic, given her #1 aide’s having a more radical Muslim background than Barry ever thought about.
Honestly, I have no problem with his donning the gear on that visit. Nor do I have a problem with his father or stepfather being Muslims unless it has influenced his thinking (which it probably did). His Kansas-born mom seems to have been a real leftie, which should be of equal concern.
It’s always a dirty trick to show real pictures of democrats, or to use real quotes of what they said, or to provide real information about what they voted on.
The truth is a negative smear attack against democrats.
