Define better job? Does that include a 7 step process to open and view an email attachment as opposed to a one step process on a PC? Just wondering.
a “generic” 8gb micro high capacity SD chip runs rings around any ipod. The now just on the market 16gb chips mean I will be able to migrate everthing from my 8gb chip to the 16gb chip when it arrives.
Apple does amazing “look stuff” however that is not enough. The Mac Air is a very cool concept and laptop however from my own mac snob sources, it is very underpowered for anything beyond the use as a snobbery device.

Nope I’m not. We have had to unplug our Mac three times, losing all our work, and call Mac Service once in 4 month of ownership. When something similar happens on one of our three PC’s I do the control/alt/delete, open task manager and correct the problem without losing what I am working on. The truth hurts sometimes.
Myth: Macs never crash.
Truth: Mine does not often show me its equivalent of the BSOD. It just slows down and chokes on the most trivial of tasks, rendering it worthless. Just like PCs.
Myth: Macs are far easier to use.
Truth: Strictly a matter of opinion. I like some aspects of the Mac interface and hate others. Just like PCs.
Myth: Macs are far easier to configure.
Truth: I guess this might be true for users who never have occasion to go beyond the most rudimentary configuration issues. For the rest of us, Mac configuration is clunky and arcane once you move beyond skin deep.
Myth: Macs are prettier.
Truth: Yes, they are.
Bottom line? The Mac is very trendy right now and has probably gained a miniscule amount of penetration into the market normally held by Windows. In the big scheme of things, however, it's as irrelevant as it's been for the past fifteen years or more.

Ok, as I suspected, the error is not with the machine, but with the operator.
On a Mac, the magic re-boot keys are: ctrl-apple key-power key. That re-boots it. If you are using Leopard, you should be running “Time Machine”, and after the re-boot you can go right back to what you were working on.
It sounds like you don’t like your Mac, and your Mac knows it!! ;) <denotes wry, joshing tone.
In the past, opening the case on some Apple models voided the warranty. The oly current model I can think of where that would be an issue is the Mini -- and maybe the Macbook Air, but you can't expand the RAM on it anyway.
I first ran into the phenomena when I had to deal with people who had a mainframe background, and I was an early PC guy. Whenever I tried to work with our technical support guys, they'd just tell me whatever I wanted to do wasn't possible. They loved the guru-wizard status they had, and avoided a lot of work by just dismissing us with "it's not possible."
These were the same guys who decried the gui, wisiyg, and mice. What they hated was that these were what let the gypsies in the palace, killing their status as the all knowing, all seeing masters of computing.
Whatever.
I don't have a love affair with my cell phone provider. Or my PC. It's a tool that I use to work. And the IPhone idiots that bought into the hype equated Apple with their best friend, instead of a company like any other one.
All the first-to-market fools that jumped in so that they'd be the first to have the cool toys got burned and then had the audacity to whine about it. No sympathy here.
Dislike is probably too kind of word. I have no desire to be part of the “Mac Community” and not needing a computer to make me feel superior to others I do just fine with PCs. They just work and work simply in an intuitive way. Unlike the re-learn everything you’ve ever known about a computer Macs.
I also don’t go to Starbucks, I drive a Chevy, shop at Wally world and Target, do not own a pair of Birkenstocks or a designer dog and I am a happy meat eating, Midwestern, conservative heterosexual, i.e., not your typical Mac owner.
And just for the record my Mac keyboard does not have any key designated as a “Power” key. I guess you have to be a member of the Mac inner circle to be told which key is the power key. Again on a PC it is the very well defined control/alt/delete which are all clearly marked as such.
First, the vaunted Mac power with regard to visuals is usually using something beefier than an iMac. Try something like the tried and true G5 powerpc or the new intel macpros. Or even the powerbook or the new Macbook Pro. The iMac is great but that's not the legend of visuals.
Second, it really depends on what software you were using too.
Third, the size of your monitor is irrelevant.
Fourth, if you are happy, I'm happy for you. It's just that your experience isn't really typical of the sort of comparison design and production professionals are talking about. Macs really are better for some things.

Other than the fact that I drive a Pontiac and like my Mac, we are the same. There are many "normal" Mac users. Face it, you hate the Mac and want it gone! You could do what I did with the cat that I hated (but was a perfectly fine cat, I just hate cats). Advertise in the free columns on craigslist.
BTW, all my responses on this thread are posted using a windows vista PC. I agree with what seems to be your practice, it’s good to have both.
I am learning I am less knowledgeable about computers than previously thought. I just don’t understand how viruses and such are so easily passed on a pc, yet not so much on a mac. Downloading things...why is this safer on a mac?
Before I walk away feeling like I dissed the iMac, let me say that you can edit full HD video with an iMac if you have the right software. That’s even on an older iMac. It’s a great computer. I just mean that the legend of the Mac you were referring to was built on more powerful computers. When everyone debates this in broad generalities it is really silly because more often they not they are not comparing like for like. (Avoiding the term apples to apples, lol.)
Does this theory also apply to motorcycles?

I'm contending that running a VM system is slower that running the same system natively hosted.
It's your contention, you prove it.
