The McCain Conundrum
12/14/2008 | KMAJ2

Posted on 02/15/2008 12:18:31 AM PST by KMAJ2

Other than the socialist Mike Huckabee and isolationist Ron Paul, John McCain was at the bottom of my list for a preferred candidate. On the other side of the equation, it is looking like Barack Hussein Obama may overrun the ice queen Hitlery Clinton. What makes that scary is Obama is to the left of the ice queen.

I have read posts from both sides of the McCain debate, the 'if you don't vote for McCain it is a vote for the democrat' gang and the 'I will not subjugate my conservative principles and vote for McCain' crowd. Personally, I support the rights (read freedom) of everyone to make such choices.

For me, my vote will be guided by my own priorities. What do I value most ? What is most important ? The scale weighed on one side love of country and on the other love of ideology. My country always comes first. So as distasteful as it will be to vote for McCain, to allow either Marxist, Hitlery or Obama, to win is to sell out my country.

Is your ideology more important then your country ? Do you only love your country if the elected leaders are those who mirror your ideological beliefs ? If one is willing to hand your country over to leaders who are clearly worse than the alternative, then one clearly loves their country, but they love their ideology more. But that is the unique trait of a free people, they have the freedom to place that order on their priorities.

Is that a "yes"? Would you vote for Charles Manson if he had an R by his name? How about Kim Jong-il? Fidel Castro? Osama Bin-Laden with an R by his name?

It's quite easy for me to answer your question, since it's so idiotic.

I will not vote for crazed murderers who are in prison, or any any of those other ones you named who aren't.

I'll vote for the Republican candidate here in America, and I don't care if the candidate is a 3-legged watermelon.

What do you plan to do?

Here’s a guy who pissed all over the Bill of Rights, has no political convictions other than convenience, has zero intelligence about the economy, is apparently willing to merge the US with Mexico, has stabbed your precious party in the back MULTIPLE times, is an emotional timebomb, old and cancer-ridden, and the best thingyou can say is ‘he isn’t a democrat’.

Sorry, I have higher standards in a leader.

Ah, thank you! So you do have a line that you draw! I was beginning to worry! lol I'm voting for the candidate who I agree with on about 97% of the issues, the one NON-globalist and true constitutionalist and patriot, Dr. Ron Paul. Even if I have to write his name in.

Hmmm, maybe I spoke too soon when I said you have a line that you draw. Apparently the only reason you wouldn't vote for Manson, Kim Jong or Osama is because they're either in jail or in another country. Oh well, I guess I read your reply too quickly :-/

That's fine by me. That's the way it's meant to be. One vote, I'm casting mine. Your choice is your own, and I'm damn glad it's still that way.

At least for now it is. But we continue to elect control freaks, so who knows....

Any truth to the rumor that McCai and the RNC are trying to get the presidential ballots changed?

The proposed wording change:

Old Ballot: VOTE FOR ONE OF THESE CANDIDATES

New Ballot: MARK THE BOX NEXT TO THE CANDIDATE YOU DISLIKE THE LEAST

Don’t forget,by shutting down “issue adds” and the money that financed them,McCain/Feingold gave the Liberal MSM more power than ever—and just as they were being weakened by the conservative New Media.
As McCain planned, the Liberal MSM promoted him then either ignored or attacked his conservative opponents.
So his NYT endorsement and other liberal media smooches got him enough liberal and “independent” votes to defeat GOP conservatives, especially since conservative votes were being divided among much better candidates—candidates the MSN told us couldn’t win.
McCain has been planning this since his ignoble defeat in SC 2000.The downfall of conservative influence in America has been his desire all along—and he has done it.
When the MSN turns on him after he wins the nomination and conservatives write in Ronald Reagan as they vote this November,McCain will go to his political grave with a smile on his face for having gotten sweet revenge for that February Tuesday in SC 2000.
McCain has done more damage to conservatism and thus America, than any Democrat in history.

McCain is a turd liberal, a turd crazy, and a turd back-stabber. That makes three/turds, which make a hole.

The GOP and President Bush expected (yes, they passed the buck—McCain was and is THAT scary!) the SCOTUS to scuttle M/F.They didn’t and all were surprised.
Besides,Bush was never a true conservative but he was still better than Gore,Kerry or McCain.
And he never told conservatives to go blank themselves!

"I’ll not vote for President."

I need a couple of boxes where I can vote "Not President".

Is your ideology more important then your country ?

The correct word in this sentence is 'than', not 'then'. And no, my country is more important; that's why I will never vote for a backstabbing, egotistical, inside-the-beltway, unstable little man like John McCain. I don't want him anywhere near the nuclear football, much less the Oval Office. But thanks for asking!

It’s time we shed the War Party theme and label. A winning constituency cannot be built on the foundations of a war whose aims are so nebulous that its supporters cannot even name the enemy.
