>>>>>For me to really be excited about Romney in the next round, he has to do a lot to shore up his conservative credentials as a matter of principal, not political expedience. For Willard to have conservative credentials, he'd first have to run for political office again and accomplish something that would promote conservatism. After 20 years of promoting conservatism as an elected official, he might get my vote.

Right. As he told us all he has a "Theology Degree" so he certainly should know. Do Theology degrees cover every religion that is just dug up? I thought it would basically deal with Bible only, not other doctrines (unless you went to LDS college).

Anything that puts an end to the hopes of the Huckster as Prez or VP is a good thing. That man used and abused religion for political gain. He is beneath contempt IMO.
Way to go Mitt!
I hope he chooses him as VP, because I think McCain is going to win.

I see no absolutely no evidence to support your ‘bigot’ comment.

I wonder what Romney got in return during the deal?

Thank you. It’s disturbed me as a Christian to see the people on this web-site focused on a persons religion or lack there of. Are so many so ignorant as to not understand what this country was founded on?
I am concerned that no one will ever measure up to some of these folks unless they are Born Again or an Evangelical.

"Ford was no McCain though. There's no comparison. Actually, there is one slight comparison. Both were products of the Good Ole Boy Congress and had been there far too long. As well, everyone was "My Friend" and they both suffered under the illusion of Bipartisanship.
Ford was not too badly beat by Carter who was from nowhere and a lousy candidate. McCain will get absolutely stomped by Hillary and this will happen no matter how much lipstick he applies in the form of a VP.

“I was a huge Romney fan from the get go, but I agree 100% with your post. Im not saying Romney is Reagan and am not comparing the two just so its clear, but I think Romney could use the next four years to work in the conservative movement and will maybe fair better next go around.”
Romney is the most interesting politician right now, except for Obama. He is playing for 2012 and this was an interesting move. I think he will not take the VP nod if he gets an offer. The prospects for a win are dim and the prospects for a landslide are very possible. He is paving the way for 2012 with this move.

That is the question. We shall soon see.

Yes that probably kills it. Still, as long as he is 1 delegate short, I’m for trying to stop him.

Huckster and many other so-called *conservatives* proved themselves to be nothing more than religious bigots the past several months.
And for that we are going to get somebody named Hussein as president for the next 4 or 8 years.
At least he ain't a once married, faithful, honorable, successful business man, Governor, fiscally conservative Mormon.

I suppose you just insulted Reagan, then, according to your “dumb” standards.
Obviously you didn’t comprehend, if you did read my post. There is no attempt from me to “morph” anyone into anyone else. I did not realize, however, you held the exclusive rights to the Reagan legacy. Perhaps you should let Nancy know, as she does support embryonic stem cell reseach. She may be dismayed to know you would think she is “insulting” her husband’s legacy.

He's NOT the better choice. He's JUST as evil as Hillary or Obama. Whose socialism do you think the Republicans in the house and senate are most likely to rubber stamp?
This idiot wants to close down Gitmo, give enemy combatants the same rights as citizens, try them in our courts and give them all evidence against them and the means of how it was all collected.
Yeah, he sure sounds like "the lesser of 2 evils"!
How can you circle the wagons around this RINO loser?

More than ever. In fact, I think I'll send him a small contribution and thank him for putting our country above ambition and self. It is time for Huck to hang it up or find his own TV show where the rest of us can turn off the dial.
Exactly...Mitt continues to outshine them all with class. Thankfully, the Huckster's sideshow can come to an end.

You have been assimilated... You are an Obama Zombie.. anyone that can’t see that Obama is far more dangerous then Hillary must have taken the Kool Aid... Jim Jones has nothing on Obama just watch one rally and you will see for yourself.
Obama is using the Rhetoric of all the Mass Murderers in History... It is the We the People in order to unify against the divisive ones, against them the bad ... He has a 100 percent liberal voting Record. ... So who then are the bad?
If you stand on one single Conservative principle you are being labled as the Problem in America, you are the dividers, Conservatives will be equated to the KKK and if enough by off on it the momentum may be so great that a new Progressive Liberal dawn will engulf America for a Generation...
