Here is what I found:

What happened according to the Mormon story was this. In the pre-existence, God the Father convened a “Grand Council” in which two of his sons, Jesus and Satan, came forward and presented alternative plans for the salvation of humankind. Here is how that event is described in the LDS Church-published manual Gospel Principles:4

Our Father said, "Whom shall I send?" (Abraham 3:27). Two of our brothers offered to help. Our oldest brother, Jesus Christ, who was then called Jehovah, said, "Here am I, send me" (Abraham 3:27).

Jesus was willing to come to the earth, give his life for us, and take upon himself our sins. He, like our Heavenly Father, wanted us to choose whether we would obey Heavenly Father's commandments. He knew we must be free to choose in order to prove ourselves worthy of exaltation. Jesus said, "Father, thy will be done, and the glory be thine forever" (Moses 4:2).

Satan, who was called Lucifer, also came, saying, "Behold, here am I, send me, I will be thy son, and I will redeem all mankind, that one soul shall not be lost, and surely I will do it; wherefore give me thine honor" (Moses 4:1). Satan wanted to force us all to do his will. Under his plan, we would not be allowed to choose. He would take away the freedom of choice that our Father had given us. Satan wanted to have all the honor for our salvation … After hearing both sons speak, Heavenly Father said, "I will send the first" (Abraham 3:27).

Satan was not pleased with having his plan rejected. He rebelled, and a third of our spirit brothers and sisters rebelled with him. There was war in heaven:

Because our Heavenly Father chose Jesus Christ to be our Savior, Satan became angry and rebelled. There was war in heaven. Satan and his followers fought against Jesus and his followers.

In this great rebellion, Satan and all the spirits who followed him were sent away from the presence of God and cast down from heaven. One-third of the spirits in heaven were punished for following Satan: they were denied the right to receive mortal bodies. (Gospel Principles, 1997 ed., pp. 17-18)

Indeed, then, the answer to Huckabee’s question should have been yes, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, actually does teach that Jesus and Satan were brothers. In truth then the media statement issued by the LDS Church was both misleading and evasive.

Here is the link (but I don't know how to actually make it a link): http://www.irr.org/mit/Huckabee-Mormon-Jesus-Satan-brothers.html

I’m sure Romney has his eye on 2012, just like Reagan had his eye on 1980 in ‘76.

If Willard does, he is wasting his time, energy and money. There is serious opposition to this RINO and isn't going away. Fortunately, a real conservative candidate will likely emerge, rendering Romney with no serious chance of winning the nomination.

I know- bout the same way I felt when my guy (Fred) asked us to rally around the nominee:(

Tell you what though- in a toss up between McCain and the Huckster- I would sooner McCain. Romney had no good options- and of those- he went with least bad.

I hate the situation we’re in- and that we’ve lost our two guys in this dreadful process. As much as I despise McCain- I find him more bearable than either of the two Dems. I’m not sure if I’ll vote for McCain- but every time I even imagine Hillary or B Hussein Obama as CIC of our armed forces- I go nuts.

I’ve got it. This was the plan all along. McCain is just trying to get Romney into office as his VP so he can step down. He knew Romney would never win on his own! McCain is Romney’s stocking horse.

LOL.

They teach that “we all” are brothers.

Specifically, they teach that God the Father is a spiritual and physical being who created a large number of spirit beings in Heaven, all of whom were his sons and daughters.

One son was named Jehovah, another son was named Michael and another son was named Lucifer. There were many other sons besides.

Jehovah volunteered to help the Father redeem his future creation of mankind and the Father accepted the offer. Jehovah's brother Lucifer was jealous of this new status given to another brother instead of himself and went to war against his brother and his father.

Michael was the leader of Jehovah's other brothers who came to Jehovah's aid against Lucifer.

As a reward, Michael the spirit being became the soul of the first man, Adam and Jehovah the spirit being became the soul of the redeemer, Jesus. The spirit being Lucifer was cast down into Hell and became Satan.

This is LDS teaching on the matter.

Of course, this kind of theological discussion has no place in a presidential election.

Mitt did what he could to limit the damage caused by the Huckster already.

What damage is that? Exposing the fact that a large percentage of conservatives can't stand McCain? That isn't likely going away no matter what Huckabee does.

I agree, whoever is McCains veep is committing political suicide. Who wants to be an answer to the triva question:
Who was the Republican Veep nominee when Obama won the largest landslide victory in the history of America against McCain....

I’m in no way implying he is Ronald Reagan, however, 1976 would be the most current analogy, seeing as how there was no serious contender to Reagan in 80; 84, Bush in 88; 92; Dole in 96; Bush in 00; 04 and the sentiment is really sort of the same.

For the record, so everyone understands, because if you so much as mention Reagan and _____ in the same sentence, you are accused of saying they are one and the same; NO ONE WILL EVER BE RONALD REAGAN. I actually believe...and I know this is a difficult concept for some to grasp, that each individual, is ....an individual. That does not, however, mean that analogies are inappropriate.

Folks,

What exactly did people think was going to happen?

Of course a defeated candidate endorses the party’s presumptive nominee. Or eventual nominee. There’s no difference in this case.

What exactly did people think a “brokered convention” means?

Delegates are not activists. They are state party people who are getting a free trip to a convention. That’s it. They are not hardliners of any kind. They will do what is best for the party because they have decided the party’s well being optimizes the country’s well being because of superiority over the opposition.

THAT is their perspective of principle. Spare the country the devastation of the opposition, and it’s a good perspective.

What exactly did people think those delegates were going to do? McCain was going to arrive in Minneapolis maybe 20 delegates short of a first ballot victory. Did people think delegates who are not activists were then going to stand up and say . . . we’ll go find someone who has zero delegates to draft, and we won’t care that various delegates are going to find a different someone so that no one has enough?

Of course not. They would just find the remaining 20 delegates and galvanize unity. What exactly did people think was going to be the process to galvanize unity when the McCain supporters 20 delegates short, vastly outnumbering any other faction, were backstabbed by right activists?

Of course Romney endorses the presumptive nominee. Anything else would be profoundly disloyal to the party and by extension to the country.

Folks can agree/disagree on Romney’s policies but he has shown class and dignity. He had a two front attack by McCain and huckster. Now we are stuck with McCain and his open borders. How we got to this stage is mind boggling.
