Face it. It is all but inevitable that McCain win the race for the GOP presidential nominee. Get over it. McCain will be the GOP nominee.
The time for divisive talk about how much you hate McCain for screwing the conservatives and how he is a RINO and his other faults is over. WE are doing NO ONE any good by continuing to publicly air our grievances about him. I know, I have done my share. I don't like him one bit, but he will be a far better president than either of the two 'Rats.
With the atmosphere as anti-McCain as it is, it would not be hard for a liberal posing as another McCain hater to sneak in and keep throwing rocks at that hornet's nest. So let's tone down the rhetoric and the vitriol aimed at him and TRY to find a common ground with him.
McCain, we can hope to influence and guide. Obama and Hitlery will absolutely NOT listen or compromise on any conservative issue.
We know that there is absolutely no way that the 'Rats will make the Bust tax cuts permanent if there is a 'Rat in the WH.
We KNOW that any Supreme Court judge who retires or dies will immediately be replaces with a pro-abortion, anti-gun, anti-freedom liberal; probably from the 9th Circus.
We KNOW that there will be nothing but pure amnesty and absolutely no border enforcement if a 'Rat gets the WH. The 'Rats NEED poor, uneducated, miserable people to advance their socialist agenda.
It is time to stop bickering and hating McCain and stop the postings about how you will sit home and watch Obama or Hitlery become the next president. That is worse than stupidity. It is admitting defeat and quitting.
And I for one will not give up and pout at my home on election day.

Great post. Too many of the so-self-important here think history will care about their "principles." It will not. It will only note who is elected President. The fact is that there will not be a conservative on November's ballot.
McCain may not be good for our republic, but it is a certainty that The Obamabeast will be disastrous. We should put our country ahead of our conservatism.
Obama or Clinton will appoint liberal judges that will uphold Roe v Wade and who will erode our constitutional rights by looking at what international opinion is before they look at the Constitution.
Let the country burn and then we will clean it up.
McCain will find out very quickly that his liberal “friends” would gladly stab him in the back. And they will start doing it before he is even elected.
I’m thinking that instead of all these you must vote for McCain threads or the world will come to an end, it might be better if all you people who support McCain started posting threads about Hillary and Obama and how awful they are. Trying the bash people on the head all the time isn’t going to work. It makes us dig our heals in. Just a suggestion.

By the same token, we will not take this country back in one administration or even in one generation. We have to take whatever wins we can get, step by step. Perhaps by legislation, perhaps by court action. If we can get a semi-conservative elected, perhaps the next time we can get someone even better, someone who won’t have to cut through four or eight years of ultra-liberal B.S. If you’re fighting an enemy and can get a partial victory, why walk away? Take what you can get and keep plugging away.
