New York: A popular radio talk show host has said that Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal would make the best running mate for John McCain, the likely Republican Presidential nominee.

Talking about the names for the Vice-President nominee floating around in Republican circles, Rush Limbaugh said on his show that airs on 600 radio stations nationwide, "I'm going to give you a name that would make me jump for joy — Bobby Jindal. I did an interview with Bobby Jindal. He is the next Ronald Reagan if he does not change."

Bobby may not have any more Legislative experience than Obama, but he has other political and executive experience, principally in Heath and Human services. He served in that capacity under Gov. Mike Foster. He later worked as a policy advisor to the Secretary of Health and Human Services in George W. Bush’s first administration.

Ahhh, don't worry, you're still a young pup. Remind me to tell you about the demise of the onion market in 1958 sometime...

If Jindal wants to maintain conservative credibility he will stay as far away as he can from that clown McCain.

He did clean up a lot of waste with Health and Human services. This past Govenor’s election, Boasso had TV commercials attacking Bobby about the cuts saying that folks died in nursing homes.

Rush didn't cause George Allen's problems; George Allen did.

Rush put a bull's eye on George Allen's back (unintentionally, of course), indicating a potential GOP presidential candidate to be gotten rid of as early as possible, plus the voters in Virginia are changing. A lot more Democrats are moving in for high-tech jobs in northern Virginia. The Washington Post was attacking George Allen nonstop for a month leading into the election for that one word, macaca while ignoring the racist past of Jim Webb.

Jindal is impressive, but not handsome enough to win in the video age.

He wasn't born in India. His parents immigrated to here before he was born.

I can't see Jindal going along with that. Their politics are polar opposites.

They would have done that even if Rush had never mentioned him.

No way! He was born in Louisiana. And as any Arkansan or Mississippian can tell you, It's a whole nother country down there!

(On the other hand the venerable Justin Wilson once reassured us that, "You don't need to be afraid to visit Loozeeana. Many o' de native speak a little English!")

I grew up in Baton Rouge and I never thought I would see Bobby Jindal elected there. He is honest, conservative, intelligent and principled. Men of his character do not get past the machine that is dominated by unions, minority voting blocks and the mob. I would be most disappointed if he joined his good name to McCain. I think he may be the next Reagan to replace the democratic nightmare that is bearing down inexorably upon us. He will be better poised for that after his stint as Gov. Besides LA needs to recover from the nightmarish reign of the schoolmom from hell. Just pray that those same forces don’t end his life, I know LA.

Indians are too "white".

What never got picked up by the MSM was that in Jindal's run against Blanco in the previous election, the Democrats put out a flyer with Jindal's picture where they intentionally darkened Jindal's skin, and distributed it through areas of Louisiana where the white voters were a little less apt to vote for a black candidate. Jindal lost big time in those areas. Coincidence? I think not. Somehow, the Democrats got a pass from the media for that bit of dirty politics.

Leave Bobby in LA, we need him there to clean up that mess. Let’s nominate Michael Steel!

Sorry to say that is true. If McCain gets it we need someone with a proven record, is recognizable, and has some CHARISMA. What are they thinking about?????

To even suggest that sounds like we are trying to lose this election.

I agree with you 100%. He is indeed needed in LA and needs that executive experience, just as you said. His time will be the right time...

Of course, they would. To emphasize that George Allen was like President Reagan didn't help, neither. But, what can we do? We discuss about our candidates in public and they listen. We don't have many conservative presidential candidates in the pipeline. I don't know how NOT to narrow the targets down for them. As some say, it's easier to kill a monster (potential GOP presidential candidate) when it's still small, especially the one with a lot of charisma.

“He’s a great future leader if he has any success in La.

But he just started his term, so don’t even think about it.”

let him serve his term, gain experience- then we have a true conservative, former governor, from the south, and the appeal of Obama due to his background.

this is no loser.

Gotta disagree with you on that point. As I recall, the Washington Post was rabidly anti-Allen for years, long before anybody ever heard of the "macaca" affair.
