Hillary Clinton's most senior advisers are in a state of "panic" about her presidential prospects and are plotting to enlist Democrat leaders in Congress to thwart her rival Barack Obama's ambitions.
--
The Clinton camp hopes to stop the Obama bandwagon by winning Texas and Ohio primaries on March 4, after which Mrs Clinton is planning to call on party grandees including Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House of Representatives and Harry Reid, the party's leader in the Senate, to persuade Mr Obama to stand down.

They were referring to McCain not Obama.

Agree
One more reason it wouldn’t be Obama/Clinton: Clinton’s negatives are too high. Very few would vote for this ticket, but plenty would vote against it because she were added.

What about Michael Steele. I like him.

PA are the big ones... GET out of here. It’s so late and Rendell has already picked it, that’s laughable.

There's no question Nancy Pelousy will be used; to MAXIMZE the gender-card rhetoric, and secure the womens' vote.

When they start screaming “he won’t debate us” you know they are for real in trouble. He doesn’t need to do another debate and both know it.

No, I mean the stuff about possibly bing Obama’s running mate?
The stuff about his siblings, BIG DEAL! His family are all dems, he was smart enough to get out.
Jimmy Carter has a drunk for a brother. Bill Clinton had a shady sibling if I remember correctly. JFK had a brother... oh never mind.

There is virtually no difference in policy when it comes to obama and hillary. That being said, the democrat primary is comes down to pure personality, and hillary loses there big time.

I cannot tell you how much I am enjoying watching
this evil sociopath go down the crapper. I just bought two more 24-packs of Orville Reddenbacher microwave popcorn.

Forgive me. LadyNavyVet, plesae take no offense, but I think I have to scream for a moment.
Which freekin forum am I on? I thought I logged into Freerepublic this morning, but I would never have believed I would be debating whether Hillary or Obama should be IN the Oval Office! Let alone for which Dem candidate posters to this forum would be casting their votes.
We all lived through the Clinton years (a he#! none of should want to repeat), but do you folks REALLY believe Obama is a better candidate? C630, you discussed his "smarts and sincereity". OMG. I'm really on DU but they are mirroring the FR forum as a joke, right?

I agree Hillary would not want Obama as her running mate. However circumstances may get away from her and she may have no choice but to choose him to keep the party from being torn apart. Kennedy and Johnson hated each other but he thought he needed the Texan to win. Could be the same here. I agree. No way is Obama choosing Hillary. He will not have to. He would have already killed the witch.

If conservatives started saying right now that they all supported McCain 100%, he would have no reason to pursue them. I want to see conservative voters pursued and convinced by McCain so we will not be ignored by him.
I hear what you are saying, but don’t agree with the approach because malaise will cost congressional seats. We need to make it clear we oppose socialism and that the democratic party is now the socialist party. If we can be successful then McCain would realize he needs to get on board.

I just want to explicitly point something out. I'm talking about voting in the Democratic PRIMARY, since the GOP nomination is pretty much in John McCain's hands. I'm still voting for McCain in the general. McCain wasn't my choice, but IMHO his 65 ACU rating from 2006 is still better than what the other side is going to offer.
So, in that light, what I'm doing is taking advantage of the GOP nomination race being over with and selecting which Dem I'd rather have in the WH if a Dem is going to win regardless. Given the three viable candidates left in this race, my preference is McCain, then Obama then Billary. I consider what I'm doing to be an effective use of my primary vote as a hedge.

No, I think that quote was referring to McCain’s running mate. “They” (democrats) are supposedly worried that McCain will peel off some of the black votes if he chooses a black running mate like JC or Powell. I’m not buying it. I think it would be a really bad move for him but I would much rather see Watts on the ticket (or even better, Steele) than Powell. Powell would be another poke in the eye to conservatives.

In today's news comes word that Hillary and Bill are forcing the DNC to recognize Hillary's wins in states primaries that the Dems de-certified for voting too early. There is
nothing the Clintons won't use to win.

I completely agree with this. McCain has stuck his finger in the eyes of Conservatives enough over the course of his career that the onus is on him to reach out, mend fences and EARN the votes of Conservatives.
OTOH, Conservatives should at least give him, and other reputable Conservatives who are now supporting him, a chance to work to mend those fences.
To: G.Love
McCain should pick the Frito Bandito to be his running mate.
