No, I think that quote was referring to McCain’s running mate. “They” (democrats) are supposedly worried that McCain will peel off some of the black votes if he chooses a black running mate like JC or Powell. I’m not buying it. I think it would be a really bad move for him but I would much rather see Watts on the ticket (or even better, Steele) than Powell. Powell would be another poke in the eye to conservatives.
