No, SCOTUS will be shot to hell. We will get moderates or mod-libs with McCain. “I can’t get a conservative through a dem senate!” No, SCOTUS is gone with any of the 3.
You only have WOT. And then be prepared for your guns to be taken away if something happens.

You are going to hear that Fred was promised something to endorse him, pretty soon there is going to be nothing left to promise.I don't think so. Fred was gentleman enough to wait until Romney dropped out before endorsing McCain. I don't think Fred gets much out of this.

No surprise.
Despite what many here at FR think, Fred and McCain have been very close friends.

I understand why, but it is too early.

I was going to write-in Fred too, but not anymore. Guess I’m stuck actually voting for a corpse (Reagan). Geez! lol

Unfortunately, much as I had high hope for the Thompson candidacy, in retrospect I suspect his entry and exit were a choreographed means of consolidating support for McCain by fragmenting Conservative support. If true, this is the logical conclusion of this process unless there is another step in naming Thompson as VP.
I hope I'm wrong but I've seen enough this campaign cycle to develop a large case of cynicism about what has happened.

Sorry, but if this is true I wont even write in Freds name on the ballot.Same here. I will be sitting this one out.
And for all of you that are about to tell me to vote to keep out Obama or Hillary, shut it. You are the exact people that have run this party into the ground.

It escapes me why any soul could possibly be surprised by this. Thompson and McCain were joined at the hip in the Senate, and Fred carried the water for McCain-Feingold more than any other single individual. Both Feingold and McCain’s chief of staff publicly credited Thompson with being the prime mover of the bill through the Congress.

You are going to hear that Fred was promised something to endorse him, pretty soon there is going to be nothing left to promise. Reminds me of the show "The Producers". Each old lady was promised a 100% share of the profits.

FT endorses JM.
DH endorses MH.
The two most conservative are now the most disappointing.

I’ve got to think about this, but I’ll say this much now.
Fred waited until this was a done deal. Cheney and Bush endorsed McCain sooner than he did.
Fred endorsement, therefore, did not give McCain any help toward winning the nomination, as it might have done if he had spoken before Super Tuesday.
