It escapes me why any soul could possibly be surprised by this. Thompson and McCain were joined at the hip in the Senate, and Fred carried the water for McCain-Feingold more than any other single individual. Both Feingold and McCain’s chief of staff publicly credited Thompson with being the prime mover of the bill through the Congress.

All true, but the denial runs real deep around here.

So what ? I know full well that was the only candidate he was likely to endorse if and when he dropped out. I mean, did you think he was going to endorse Joe Isuzu Romney or Huckster ?

Right now DH has endorsed Huck.
After the convention if so, no problem

In the end, the bottom line, we can have McCain who belives in winning the war or have Hitlery or Boma who
will pull out the troops and don’t believe there is a war on terror.

At least McCain has a clue on the WOT

Nice tag! :)

LOL, thanks. I did as I said I would too. They both have it in their bedrooms.

I was ignorant enough to give money to his campaign. Not a lot but what I could do. You know the phrase- burn me once.....

Sorry this is off-topic, but I was just reading your tagline.
After that Bill Clinton fiasco, we might want to just forget about the cigars for awhile? Bad memories. :D

Never said you were making any claim except for one. You’re the one posting that its no surprise, Fred wants to be his VP. Where’s the proof? Fred said he has no interest in being VP. Period. I take him at his word.

Well, Keyes would at least be the conservative choice. If he’s on the ballot when I vote, I’ll probably vote for him. It will be my little payback for the fact that the corrupt system is set up so that my vote means nothing despite the fact that I live in the state with the second or third biggest population, Texas. I’ll be damned if I’ll punch crazy john’s ticket in a one horse race.

I really think we’re going to be saying heil to President Obama-sama. People vote for the one with the most dynamic personality and he’s got more personality than the other two could ever dream of having. We’re looking at a new birth of leftism in our time. Sigh...

They've been good friends for quite a while now, so that scenario would've been most unlikely.

I think Fred did this as much to extend a middle finger to Huckabee and Dobson as to help McCain.

Think about the timing.

I don’t think we were small thinkers at all. We put a lot of determanation into a candidate we thought was best and was above the rest. That’s not small thinking.

Looks like Rush was right to not endorse Fred.

He basically said he wouldn't endorse anyone because he was afraid that if he did, that person might endorse somebody like McKeating if they fell out of the running.

No surprises.

I supported Fred. And I’ll still be supporting a third party.
