He waited until it became clear who the party nominee would be, and he called for unity in the party, exactly as Mitt Romney did. Would you consider Mitt's statement an ENDORSEMENT of McCain? Mitt step aside for party unity, but he still held onto his delegates, incase of unforseen events and there still might be a broker convention if this nobody Huckabee don't step aside!

You may say you’re not an isolationist, but your rhetoric claims otherwise. I haven’t “bought” into anything of the administration in the way of propaganda. I am what you call a “neo-Conservative.” We have, whether we like it or not, a substantial role to play in international affairs. The United States IS the United Nations. Our having to act reactively instead of pro-actively is the reason 9/11 happened in the first place. We wait until disaster strikes before we do anything. We can’t do that anymore. For those that yell that we’re not following the Constitution here, I might remind them that our Constitutional is not a mutual suicide pact.
I truly get rather tired hearing about what “world opinion” thinks of us. If we were so awful a nation, why do we remain the #1 destination for people trying to flee whatever fill-in-the-blank country is out there ? A large part of it is jealousy and rank hypocrisy. We don’t run our country on the popular opinion of other nations, and if they selected our leaders, they would be of the kind that would allow our nation to disintegrate and be overrun in short order.

You’re a strange one. All that Mittbot hate has rotted through all your reason and sense. Fred remains a Conservative and a loyal Republican. Always was, always will be. And I never said I was for McCain.
Pardon your ignorance.

"So you want to concede both 2008 *and* 2012?"
Did you have the same opinion in 1980 and 1984 ? I guess you voted for Carter and Mondale because of your age concerns. Nice to know.

I thought he was the best candidate,
And you're right, he is/was the best candidate. That cannot be taken away from him. Some things are out of our control and, possibly, his also.
"I am trying to appeal to everyone in the party. I recognize that it is going to take a united and energized Republican party, all aspects of it, if we are going to have a chance to win the election in November, he said, adding he also will look to attract liberal Republicans who supported Rudy Giuliani and even
anti-war Republicans."http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1967788/posts

The whole point is that he’s going to have to unify this party if he wants even a remote chance of winning. I don’t like how he has behaved in most of the past decade (and frankly, I think he should’ve retired after 2 terms in 1998), and I don’t think he’s the best person for the job. Unfortunately for the GOP, it will have to decide whether they take their chances on him or with Hillabama. Not a pleasant choice by any stretch.

Thanks for sharing Fred but not interested in YOUR candidate. McCain will never be mine.
I am looking forward to working on the congressional races instead.

My comment was not made to you, it was made to restornu, who WAS looking for Fred to endorse McCain as soon as he left the race, and said so as soon as Fred dropped out.

RINO'S?
Just think, this time next year we may be wishing we were back here! LOL How's that for an uplift?
I've read Mark Levin's outline of McCain's record a few times - it seems unreal that we are discussing him for the highest office in our land. If honest were a strong point w/him, he would have switched parties. He seems more hell bent to destroy.
