Actually the real sin of old Testament Jezebel was on King Ahab, the most evil of all the Lord’s kings: Naboth’s vineyard, sexual immorality of Baal worship that lured the Hebrews into idolatry, disgust and rejection of Elijah, etc.

If you really want a religious discussion of Jezebel on FR, I’d posit that as the New Testament indicts Jezebel of “being a false prophetess” and “leading her students into sexual immorality” that the false prophecy of Joseph Smith and the sexual immorality condoned by the Mormon church makes it a real snug Jezebel fit. Therefore, Christians could not vote for him because we know that “even to greet a false teacher (or false prophet) makes us part of his evil work.” So you guys were not into Romney, right?

I did report the personal and profane attack, btw.

Again, as I have stated previously, I have NEVER heard of such a thing!!! I’m sure in alllllllll the anti-mclame posts someone somewhere would have touched on this, but YOU seem to be the only one!

Nobody cares about his arms and legs!!! You seem to be defending things that need not be defended!!! Focus! Tell us WHY he tried to shove scamnesty down our throats in the cloak of darkeness so that WE THE PEOPLE would be none the wiser!!!

I see you haven’t touched that tidbit!

Many of us suspected in the end Fred would endorse his friend McCain.

Except you assumed it would happen the day after he dropped out, and you were hoping it would happen so you could do your Nyah Nyah at the FredHeads.

Well, Fred DIDN'T endorse McCain after he got out of the race. In fact, he didn't endorse ANYONE when he got out. He waited until it became clear who the party nominee would be, and he called for unity in the party, exactly as Mitt Romney did. Would you consider Mitt's statement an ENDORSEMENT of McCain?

I thought every good Freeper knew what a Christian classic Denton’s book is. Reagan did. Do you know who Jeremiah Denton was?

No, it won’t. It did not do that with O’Conner or Souter. All they have done since they have been there is go more to the left. They agree with the libs significantly more often than with the conservatives.

if you recall, Souter was sold to Bush I as a conservative by a guy named Warren Rudman. Bob Dole even said “We (the repubs) were alllied to about that one (Souter).” His first decisions were radically left. And Rudman is McCain’s general campaign manager. I have no faith that we’d get a decent nominee through. We’d get another mod-lib to liberal. And they’d just keep on going left, just like all the moderates do.

McCain is no fool. This is all about him and he wants to be popular. He is smart enough to know not to jeopardize his presidential legacy by fighting with conservatives for 4 years.

I agree completely!

I doubt that Fred wants to be his VP, but John would be very wise to ask him.

I disagree. Fred would be a great VP, but there are lots of other equally (or more) conservative and qualified people who would also be more vigorous campaigners. Most importantly, McCain's age may be a significant factor, and a young and healthy VP would probably do a lot to reassure people.

I meant it as “whoring for mclame”. Doesn’t mean you actually sleep with the man!!! My goodness, get a grip!

That’s what mods are here for!

Moderates vote against the conservatives just as easily as the libs do. Moderates are just liberals who haven’t fully embraced their liberalism yet. Look at how they go - they generally tend to keep going to the left.

unfortunately, i think he would prefer to be POPULAR with moderates and liberals, rather than the conservatives, and so fighting with the conservatives is just the thing that would bring that about.

Souters and O’Conners side with the libs way more often than the conservatives. You can’t count on them either.

So true! I honestly believed Fred would not endorse anyone! That’s right, I said it!!! Naive, stupid, and all other names I’ve been called, doesn’t matter.

I truly believed he would endorse no one. Thought he would wait to be called upon, silly, isnt it?

I strongly suggest you McCain supporters might want to quit singing the Cult of Personality song in praise of McCain. People here know his real record. Chanting slogans about how great McCain is isn’t going to sell with Freepers. We know better. We know his political record.
Being spun to belive in a McCain we know has never existed does not convince us to support him, it angers us because we know we are being lied to.

Right now McCain supporters best tactic is to simply post what the Democrat candidates are saying on any issue that pisses Conservatives off. Your only hope is that the Democrats manage to scare Conservatives more then McCain pisses them off.

I have no doubt most Conservatives will be scared into supporting McCain in Nov by the Democrats. Simply saying “Well they are worse” “or “McCain is really a great Conservative” isn’t going to work. We know better. We know McCain’s real record.

What I suggest is McCain supporters simply post what the Democrats Candidates are saying on what ever issues the person angry at McCain is posting about. If they are mad about taxes, post what Obama and Hillary plans are on taxes. Mad on immigration post their immigration plan.

The Democrats themselves are your best chance of changing peoples minds about McCain. Telling us what a great guy he is isn’t going to sell to Feepers. We know his real record on things like Iraq. His real record differs quite a bit from the air brushed one presented by his campaign

I personally think it is a waste of time. I think McCain’s record has so poisoned the well that McCain supporters are wasting their time. However, if McCainiacs are going to keep spaming the board with McCain ads, they might at well at least TRY to be effective, rather then merely annoying.

You mean McCain? He's no spring chicken, but he doesn't have heart troubles like Cheney, as far as I know. McCain's gonna need a healthy veep too.

You outed yourself

Comes from being an honest free thinker. You lock-step types always react this way to anything unorthodox...like for example, when I said months back that Fred was a lousy candidate who would be done before Super Tuesday. Boring, tedious, predictable sorts like yourself had all sorts of snappy lines...problem is, the truth is what it is.

GWB relied heavily on Cheney re: foreign policy. Cheney had his guys in there with them, and they did a lousy job. Firing the Veep would have been a bit tough, but the others are gone aren't they? Where's Mr Big mouth Rummy? Gone. Where's that little weasal Wolfowitz? Gone. And good riddance. Yea, I'm outed. As someone with some sense left in his head.

It's funny. I find in politics, the diagnosis is usually correct, it's the cure that's usually bad. In other words, most criticism from the opposition has truth in it; it's their proposed cure that sucks.

I’m trying to take a measure of a man. McCain’s broken limbs are as important as Bush’s alcoholism. Too bad they both backed amnesty. I wish someone would explain to me what the forces behind amnesty are...

is it big business backing Bush and McCain?

is it fear of losing the Latino vote?

I don’t get it. But at least, McCain sort of admitted his bill was at odds with the American People. Unlike Bush who just dug in his heels and pouted.
