Fred Thompson, the one-time Republican presidential candidate, endorsed Sen. John McCain Friday, calling on the party to "close ranks" behind the presumed nominee

Fleas are blood suckers, aren’t they? Appropriate.
I do understand that those who have not voted feel their votes will not count since McCain “supposedly is the nominee”. Many are stating that they will just not bother to vote in the primary. I hope they change their minds and vote for their favorite candidate, or choose between those left in the race. A message is sent with our votes, and the only message sent by staying home is that one is just not interested in voting. It isn’t a message for or against anything. Please vote!
If you don't vote for someone who might beat the RAT, you may as well be casting your vote FOR the RAT.
This site is gonna be a hoot during the election. Whinning, wailing and gnashing of teeth.
A conservative like Hunter kicked to the curb and a liberal rino like mcpain in the number one spot. Please pinch me, I have to be asleep!
One...Sadam was a complete totalitarian sadistic ars, two..every government on the planet is competing for oil, three...AlQaida wants to spread it's caliphate by force, four...Christians and socialists can't get their foot in the door in the middle-east to witness without being killed, five...a bunch of globalist rich guys want to get mega rich from new customers, six...moderate Muslims are a poor oppressed people, seven....the middle-east is a powder keg anyway with Israel right in the middle of them.
Take your pick among the reasons but this new larger war to do more than just stabilize the ME will go on. Too many very strong forces have too much invested at this point and we have come too far just to end it.
Not suggesting he did this to go to McCain.
I just feel his heart was not in it. I think he was built up so much at first that he thought it would be a lot easier.
When he didn’t do that good, he jumped. That is what disappoints me. He didn’t even wait for the conservative states to vote.
It disappoints me b/c I think he would have been a wonderful president..now look where we are.
Indeed, you are correct, on both counts.
I'm thinking it's because the other big single issue here is immigration, and the folks on that issue are just as doctrinaire as the pro-lifers. They don't think about what could happen if we had a more conservative Congress. Even if McCain is President, and he supports a much more liberal immigration policy, if he can't get it though Congress, it doesn't matter what HIS personal ideas on the issue might be. So why not work hard for a much more conservative Congress? Then, even if the Republican in the White House isn't as conservative in all things as we might like, he WOULD be more inclined to listen to conservatives than a Democrat who won't even bother.
If all 3 are RATS, why on earth would I vote for any of them? All 3 will take our country down the tubes, I will not take part in that. What I will take part in is supporting, donating and volunteering for any conservative candidate for all other elections.
If that is not good enough for you, it’s not my problem. I am NOT telling you NOT to vote mclame, I am just saying I’m not and stating my reasons why.
“If you don’t vote for someone who might beat the RAT, you may as well be casting your vote FOR the RAT.”
Are you saying I should vote hill?? No way in hell. Please spare me the “if you dont vote mclame, you’re voting hill speech”.
I cannot give up the fight of 35 years on abortion and the SCOTUS in that regard and relegate us to another 30 years as I would do if Obama or Hillary got in. Tens of millions of innocents would have died in vain, and tens of thousands of others who have worked their heart out to put us on the verge of getting that majority on the SCOTUS would have worked in vain.
As to the war, the thousands who have died and the tens of thosuands who have been injured to keep us safe and take the fitght to the enemy would have had that sacrifice and that of their families go down in vain. I cannot allow that.
Now...this does not mean that I endorse McCain. I do not. We will lose other very critical areas that will change the face of this nation for the worse unless we continue active, as active as before, and shine the lite of truth on McCain and stop his amnesty and global warming initiatives. I believe we can do that with McCain...we already did once.
With Hillary or Obama and their majorities, we will have less chance, and will not only lose in the areas wherre McCain is disgustingly bad, we will lose in ALL areas.
In good conscience I cannot allow that. It would not be a vote in good conscience for McCain, it would be a vote in good conscience for preventing an even greater tragedy.
Awww, no pinching, how about a hug instead?? You’re right, the elections are going to be hairy!!!! I just have to remember to keep God in my thoughts and not allow myself to get all wound up!
It's almost 10:20 and I'm still in my night clothes. Be back for round 2 when I get dressed. lol
lol
more coffeeeeeee. : )
It amazes me to see so many intelligent people behaving as though there is only one branch of government.
McCain, for all his faults is NOT a Democrat, and at least his appointments won't be as egregious as those of Her Heinous or Obama. I believe he's much more interested in the security of our country than either of the Democrats. And before you go off on the immigration issue, if he can't get it through Congress, it doesn't matter how he feels about the issue.
“At long last. This should send every Fredhead into a tizzy. Is this not the mother of flip flops?”
Fred was helping McCain from the start. Splitting the conservative vote.
Huckabee split the values voter bloc.
Rudy jumped out just in time to send his voters to McCain.
Cue the music from “The Sting”. We got played.
McCain is the nominee. Mission accomplished. /hvy sarc
I agree with you on that. This is going to be the hardest vote i’ll ever have to make .
Everytime I see the cheering lunatics surrounding Hillary and Obama , I become a little more comforable with the thought of having to vote for McPain .
I will work hard for downticket candidates , as all of us must do .
Can't imagine what they'd think of Abraham Lincoln today. *whinge* "Too ugly, too gangly, too skinny, not photogenic"
I hate to agree with you, but I must. I’m just tired of all the mclamers here trying to force him on me. They dont understand I cannot vote for the man. I would never vote for someone who has such utter contempt for me.
When he says “he wants to reach across the isle” I’m afraid it’s for my throat, lol.
