I know obituaries seldom name the cause of death, but I think you should make an exception in this case.

GWBush wounded it but McCain shot the final bullets. New name “the moderate/independent/reach out/compromise/stand for nothing/no self respect/MSM worshiping” Party

Nice to see that writing for the AP gave you some experience in writing realistic sounding news bits such as this.
Pretty sad if you think about it though, Doug. Here’s hoping McCain can balance out the ticket with someone who’s actually a conservative.

You guys are getting more and more dramatic.
Seriously, what is up with all these whiny, "it's all over" vanities? I don't know who taught you folks that quitting is ok, but I would suggest you stop listening to them.

Except your history isn't right: The Republicans were the party of "big government" in the mid- to late-1800s, supporting high tariffs, federal support to schools, businses subsidies (especially to railroads), and income taxes.
In TR's time, they supported anti-business legislation and justice department attacks on business and introduced the first "environmental" legislation. It wasn't until Warren Harding and Calvin Coolidge that the Republicans really became the "party of business" and low taxes. Historically speaking, the modern-day Republicans are closer to those of Lincoln's time than they are those of Reagan's or Coolidge's time.

A rolling over of the grave ceremony is expected to take place nationwide in memory of the Republican Party on November 4th. Expected to take part in the ceremony include such former members as Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, Abraham Lincoln, John C. Fremont, Ulysses S. Grant, Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, Warren G. Harding, Calvin Coolidge, Dwight D. Eisenhower among others. McCain is supposed to be a big fan of Teddy Roosevelt.
That's where his big government "national greatness conservatism" comes from.
Trick Question: What state was John McCain born in?

False premise.
If the GOP can survive the nominations of Wilkie, Dewey or Ford, it can handle McCain. Easily.
The phony panic vibe on this board is really trite.
